Out of 70 NBA players that have tried at least 2,000 jump shots over the past 5 seasons, Russell Westbrook ranks last in efficiency with an eFG% of just 41.8 on 4,226 attempts.

Anthony Davis ranks 69th. The Lakers are now desperate for shooting.

THT isn't a great outside shooter either and LAL doesn't control Schroder, Caruso or Drummond.  I don't think the Kings will have any interest in taking Schroder or Caruso in a deal for Hield.  I'm sure there is a path for LAL to get the shooting they need (seems like there always is).  But, color me unimpressed.

The Lakers are going to need to try and get a special dispensation so that they can use more than one basketball because Westbrook is going to be hogging the one. I'm pretty sure LeBron and AD are going to want to touch it every once in a while. Perhaps some of the others, too.

He seems pretty happy about going to LA.  Big Grin
Thank you Donnie.

I would expect LA will pay what it takes to keep Caruso (it benefits both player and team). And I think they'll try their hardest to get Schroder into a big new deal via sign-and-trade, that lands them Hield (in a 3-way) or some other reasonably good shooter coming back.

Drummond wants to get paid well, and the Lakers would have no way to sign him to a deal even the size of the big MLE, so he's probably walking elsewhere as a free agent.

Really interested to see if there's still a front office out there stupid enough to pay him.

At the minimum. That's what he's worth, imo.

Mavs twitter hasn't been on his jock so much this time around, which I think is hilarious because it proves the thing we all know the league thinks and we all say is the problem. We want the league not to care who wins and not show bias to NY/LA, but there are like 2,000 Mavs fans who were convinced Drummond was the missing piece here...until they saw him play with LA. Now, they finally understand that he's not a winning player. If they watched/cared about the other teams, they'd have known already.

Add Whiteside to the list. Same category. Now the backup big for the Jazz.
