I’d prefer Graham and Holmes.

And Batum after we trade Powell.

Graham, Sato (or Korkmaz), Holmes and Batum would be a pretty stellar offseason.

Can't argue there.

Graham + Holmes
Fournier + Holmes
Lonzo + Holmes
or even Sato (trade) + Holmes

..all better than paying 3 years 90M for a 17/5/7 stat line, which could be down to 15/4/5 or worse in year 2.

Don´t need money. Satoransky and Aminu fit into that new TPE.

This suddenly opens a new avenue to an over the cap S&T for Markkanen, while also taking on the expiring salary of Satoransky or Aminu to help the Bulls with their capspace. I would LOVE that so much.

Holmes would depend on if they can convince him KP will be the 4 and if Kidd wants to play that way.  Not really sure what to think about KP at 4 if he's too immobile for 5.

Well, I think Holmes doesn't need a lot of convincing in staying with Sacramento. The city loves him, he is needed there, his position is secure.
But he is relatively young and has not maximize his earning potential.

So he would go to whoever pays him best. If the Mavs offer him 19M and no one else has? He will be a Mav.
KP is non factor in his decision, that's a problem for the Mavs not him.

I don't get how Lowry is a better player than Derozan.  Derozan has been solid on defence, scoring 22 ppg on 50% shooting and dishing out 7 apg, does not play the same position as Luka, and is 31 years old.  Id rather max Derozan than Lowry.

Yeah I think he'll go the highest bidder but I dont think he's going anywhere where he isn't the clear cut starting center.  Dude had to sit behind the process and has always been vocal he thought of himself as a starter.

He's Sacramentos to lose but who knows what the Kings are upto

Well, Lowry is a good 3-point shooter instead of one of the worst in the league. Similarly, he is a good defender instead of one of the worst in the league. So those are two critical areas where is leagues ahead of DDR.

DeRozan is a wing sized Trae Young on defense. One of the worst defenders in the league. Only had one regular season in his entire career with a positive on/off impact. Not a single playoff run with positive on/off numbers. Lowry on the other hand was leading the Raptors in +/- based metrics in most of those seasons.

He would be the clear cut C here if we give him $18-20M. He would have to play horribly to not be, but to start, he would be that.

Yeah, I respect Derozan's ability to score, but his defense and shooting are absolutely atrocious. Bad enough that I don't think his scoring and playmaking can overcome it. I feel the same way about Dinwiddie. I'm all the way out on players like that. There are ways to get playmaking without having to sacrifice that much shooting and defense.

Lowry the last two years in on/off defense:

-3.6
-0.7

Lowry WAS a good defender. He has been average to below average the last two years IMO. An aging small guard just cannot keep up on the defensive end.

This is why I preferred Conley despite his chronic hamstring issues. If it costs 90/3 for Lowry I think I'm circling back around to Devonte Graham.

Agree. Raptors as a whole declined without Kawhi, Gasol and Ibaka but Lowry clearly lost a step as well. Team defense is still great but his on ball defense is a problem. More often than not he is getting the easiest perimeter matchup. VanVleet on the best guard. Anunoby on the best wing. Not the best fit on a Mavs team that already has big matchup problems on the perimeter and a center that lacks the mobility to defend in space.

Okay but that doesn't change him being leagues ahead of DDR who might be the worst wing defender in the league.

For sure. -10.5 and -7.0 for the last two seasons for DDR. I have NEVER been on the DDR wagon.....BUT Lowry at 3yrs/$90M guaranteed is just as nausea inducing.
