Schrude the Rude (Schrude Dog?) could sure play the Dennis Rodman role to Luka’s Michael Jordan. Not sure his kinda crazy isn’t exactly what the Mavs have been missing. Regardless, I trust the head coach’s informed opinion on this, just like with Sterling Brown. If Kidd has bad judgment, we’re screwed anyway.

It feels like the back-up plan for Dragic is Dennis Schröder. I could be wrong, but there’s enough familiarity and at the likely price, it makes sense. Kidd (and St. Jean) coached him in LA, Maxi surely knows him from the national team, and Hardaway played with him in Atlanta. I don’t think he’s as bad as he showed near the end of his time with the Lakers.

Anything more than a year is a mistake.  He just tends to wear out his welcome and it has nothing to do with his play. But for a year? I don't hate it.

According to Negan, and Lucille: yes.  He just isn't swift in his movements but the Eurostep move is great.

I wonder if Lauri just does a 2+1 deal with a player option at around the MLE. The market seemed to have squeezed him and that price is about market value for a stretch big with suspect defense. 

A 2+1 year deal gives him the option to go for broke in 2023 or hold and let the bird rights allow him to get paid. The MLE also is the perfect price to fit into the Mavs TPE.

Just grab the dude now even if the fit isn't quite right with KP. Can always trade either of them later.

Dallas 4th.  Bullock for JRich is uninspiring yet important improvement.

Note, landing Dragic would hurt this metric.  Sending out Powell would hurt even more.

At this point the money has all but dried up. According to Spotrac the only team with cap space right now is the Spurs with 5 mil. The question becomes not "does MLE money entice Markkenen" but rather "does this role allow Markkanen to shine so he can cash in next free agency."

I don't think he'll get that on the Bulls at all. He's expressed interest to come here on the other hand.

Fair point. I don't see Markknnen at MLE money as an overpay though. Especially because I think he'll shine next to Luka in the Maxi role. He's a fallen angel type where his value can be rebuilt. He's still only 23.
