While I may very well threaten to kill someone by running up their electricity bill, it won't be until after peak Summer rates are over.

I mean, I'm not insane.

I have no idea who is on what side of what, but I'm just going to interject my opinion here.

I hate --- HATE --- the mega threads.  You jam every nuanced point into one giant umbrella and you can't have any kind of discussion on anything, because everything is so multifaceted, you can be talking about one thing, and then someone come in and take it totally a different way on a totally different thing, and your discussion is gone.

I think when all that started it was nonsense, and WAAAAAAAYYYY overdone, and it pretty much killed me going to the boards for a good while.  I get that you can't have 15 threads on "Is Luka going to bolt for New York (or latest rumor)", but you also can't say "every time that you mention Luka it has to be in this thread"  If you want to talk about his game with Croatia, it shouldn't ahve to be in a thread that three posts ago someone was going off about what kind of dog Luka has....that's just too much, and it was frustrating that someone just jams whole threads together, making the context mean NOTHING because the posts are all intermingled.

Can a megathread judge talent well, understand player value, negotiate deals, and develop and implement a good team building strategy?

Can it pick and work with a good coach?

TLDR;

I support Dan threads! I think if a new thread is no good it sort of dies on its own because most people only.pay attention to the first page of recent/active threads. I hope people aren't getting too worked up!

I was born in January of 1960.  [Dwight David Eisenhower was President of the United States.]

The expression "don't have a cow" was definitely "a thing" before I was born.  [SOURCE: my sister (born in 1953), who is never wrong about bovine trivia]

@"Hogmelon", now that we're here in this non basketball thread, how did you come by those math chops? Do you get to have that kind of fun at work?

I'm over here trying to be positive and optimistic. Live look at me right now waiting the GM/Coach news:

B.S. in electrical engineering from Texas A&M; M.S.E.E. from MIT (specializing in optimal control theory, which is all math)

Worked for Bell Labs, then General Dynamics (still in control theory, still all math).

Developed optimal card-counting strategies for blackjack, which proved extremely successful (both individually and as part of a team) until I was barred by every casino that mattered.

Then ...

Law school in Austin (t.u.), followed by a litigation practice that morphed into a mediation practice.

Then ...

Poker.  Full-time until recently.

Now ...

Just playing with my grandkids and chillin' ....

Also, mixed in with all of the above, a shitload of adventures in the wonderful worlds of art and music.

@"Hogmelon", thanks for sharing  that! Really cool stuff. I have a math degree but did horribly with probably. Never got a career going with that degree so ended up getting a civil engineering degree and working in that field.

Does your experience give you some insight about The Bob?
