Let's hope the long rest gave positive energy to the team. Very important game. Memphis is a grit and grind team at it finest. They are fairly limited offensively, but boy do they hustle on defense. Winslow just returned from injury for them, while Jackson is still out. Very important game for Mavs to start the climb to the playoffs.

DMN reporting they spoke with RC about KP's defense and how they have been working on it this week.  Reasons are KP out of shape and no training camp.  They ae hopeful things improve.  So say we all.

I want soooo badly to believe that these are the reasons KP hasn't played well so far. If I could start to view him as a potential max player again my outlook on the team would be 1,000x more positive.

You know, I hate to say it, but the impression that KP gives me is that he expects success to come easily.  Seems like he's used to being so much taller than other players that he doesn't yet realize how hard he is going to have to work in the NBA.  Dwight Howard also used to give me that vibe.  When a play didn't work out, he'd kind of sulk and slack around, instead of immediately getting back into the game.  KP is just going to have to significantly ramp up his energy level, focus, and determination if he wants to help the Mavs win these tough games.  And every game is a tough game for the Mavs!

Alright now that we’re out of “training camp” it’s time to start playing like the team we thought we would be before the season. Must win game.

I have an inflated idea of the new and improved KP.  Reality will bite. Smile

We have been off a week with no games and KP still needs a game off, SMH....

I am suddenly reminded why I am fully on board with shipping him out...

Everyone has literally trapped in their own homes and KP somehow is injured.

So, KP is now out for tonight?  Well, I have to eat an ample serving of crow after earlier in the year insisting that KP was the player the Mavs could least do without.  Man, have I been wrong so far this season.  Maybe if he can ever get close to 40% on his threes, he'll approach the value I thought he would have.
