Also, the fact they didn't get him, ease things for the league

I think the League is making a mistake here. Sort of halfway measure as with a lot of things lately (like the 2 minute report). Or like that one case - refs would focus on travelling more. The result was that stars blatant travelling is usually overlooked while slightest move of foot is called on "no-names".

It is obvious that tampering is widespread and that it is basically impossible to prevent it. 50+ % of contracts gets signed in the first minutes after the trade deadline is lifted. Yet out of all this they somehow decided to punish this one case? When one could argue there were at least 50 more cases just this offseason.

Either you are dead serious with antitampering as announced last season or you change the rules making tampering "legal". This is BS.

Wow. Good for him... Clippers payroll will be crazy high next season. I hope Cuban is prepared to spend. A lot...

Really?
I mean in 2019 it was like this way, except for Kawhi.
But in 2020? I don't know. It felt it took few days for many free agents to sign. If anything I think the league was already taking positive step there.

Some 20 contracts were signed day 1, many of them in first two hours. Several teams including Mavs were obviously negotiating Gallo SnT before free agency.

This man really doesn't give a crap.

Folks need to buckle up for next off season to follow the blue print of this last one almost exactly.

The Mavs are going to develop from within unless they can sign value contract FAs OR swing clear winning trades. The Giannis's and Goberts are gone.

Sounds like my kind of team-building. I’m ready!

The things we really need to buckle up are the new JRich and THJ contracts. There is still one third of the league with cap space...

I think they're at the point where trading Johnson - and possibly THJ - for a substantially difference-making guy on a long-term deal is a must. And as for the post above that JRich will be offered a max, well, I have said before that he's worth THJ's current contract, so...

I think mostly brace for the JRich contract. I think the Mavs are willing to deal THJ or let him walk. I think JRich is here to stay.

However, the capspace is going to be mostly gone if all these extensions keep going through.

Do you have any guesses of teams with space that you foresee targeting JRich and THJ?

I would really prefer that the Mavs moved on from THJ, but would be okay bringing him back for around $12 mil a year. At $15 mil or more, hell no. They need to gauge the market on him, and if it's going to be too high, trading for someone better on a longer deal is sine qua non.

80M is a steal for Isaac. Prior health issues aside, if the market is handing out 64M for Luke Kennard, Isaac at 80M can be one of the best value contracts in the league.

Seems like the Mavs are going to have to get better through trades than FA. Which I'm actually not so beat up about.

THJ will get $16-18 easy unless he shoots like 34% from three this year.
