Wow, just wasted that asset.

WOW. Kings management might overtake for the worst in the NBA. And that's saying something. Total mismanaging of assets.
Also, I think Brad speculating over what the Kings FO thinks is as valid as any other random fan's speculation. He has no sources for the Kings. Quick edit cause I just remembered: Buddy is 28. 6 year difference between him and Fox. "young" is stretching it.

They just drafted Haliburton (20). Fox is 22. Hield is 27.
Maybe they keep Hield because Vivek loves him. Maybe they dont if whispers of a rebuild a real. Not matching Bogdan isn't necessarily any indication on Hield IMO like Townsend is guessing. Also, Hield hates Luke Walton from what I gather.

With Bogi gone, I don't see that obstacle there anymore. I don't think the bridge is burnt just yet. But you never know when it comes to the Kings.

Despite what y'all think, I feel it's a smart move. They just extended Fox. Bagley/Haliburton are promising, I bet they'll sell everyone at TDL and start over. Tank a little in this good '21 class and you might find a game changer to pair with your core. What was dumb was the SnT situation. DiVincenzo coul've been good there.

Ok, I buy that. Now, is there is any source close to the Kings saying they are shopping him or even ready to part away with him?

I don't see how this takes Hield off the table. He's still a malcontent that hates his coach and wants out.

Here's a Sac beat writer talking about how the Kings were shopping around Hield to gauge value, wherein he states that other exec's are mixed on Buddy's value overall https://twitter.com/JandersonSacBee/stat...3945589760 Another one saying that their GM is obviously looking at Buddy's market and doesn't want to sell this low on him even though he's aware of the tenuous relationship. https://twitter.com/JandersonSacBee/stat...3359227909 I can go on, but overall the feeling from SAC is that they aren't tied to Buddy because they love him as a player, but moreseo beholden to weather the storm until they can up his trade value. From that I take that the Kings WANT to trade Buddy, but not for scraps which is understandable. I also find it risky, given Buddy's not so great realtionship with Walton, and him basically trying to force his way out all offseason by liking tweets of his fit on other teams and one rumor even going so far as he's requested a trade and had a list of Philly, and Dallas (that was before the Curry trade). This route can also blow up in the Kings face where Buddy plays even worse under Walton and lowers his value, to the point he sits out. It can also go well and Buddy shows everyone he deserves a trade. (11-24-2020, 09:24 PM)aguiar95 Wrote: Despite what y'all think, I feel it's a smart move. They just extended Fox. What was dumb was the SnT situation. DiVincenzo coul've been good there. If this was their plan, then matching Bogi and trading him next offseason still fits that plan. Especially if they were going to trade other players and restart. King FO shat the bed, plain and simple, even though I think MIL made their bed for them leaking that SnT too early.

Either way, I dont think Mavs are interested in any small upgrades UNTIL Giannis signs his supermax.
edit: I forgot the Kings still have Harrison Barnes lol. How the mighty have fallen.

Omahen, what you're missing out on in your exchange with Mavs2019 is that, while he sometimes has some great opinions, humor, and basketball talk, his favorite pastime is bludgeoning the MBT. His old user name was Mavs2012 (after the dire missteps of the 2012 offseason) and now it's Mavs2019 (after another apocalyptically bad offseason). He's attacking them for the KP trade in this conversation, which making the injury/rehab situation narrative as bad as it can possibly get allows him to do.

So, bad option Looking back, in a way I’m glad we did plan powder and happy with the results. The entire NBA got to watch as fake superstar after fake superstar turned down a chance to play with our loyal real superstar. The end result was not more rings but more respect earned by Dirk. The cherry on top is Dirk still got to hand the keys to the next guy
