DAL OFFSEASON: Trade & FA | Mavs "mostly done...but you never know."
Interesting side note. I didn't know Dallas was even on the list.

- Mavs are fine without vet min center
- Mavs will not resign Barea but vet min center or
- there is non Bogi trade still being negotiated somewhere

I think option 3 is most likely.

Option 2 is also quite likely.

Agreed. They will try to find a big in a 2 on 1 trade, and if that doesn´t happen JJB will have to step aside. Other option would be waiving Boban.

We also haven´t discussed the possibility that the Mavs have some sort of agreement with WCS. Maybe they told him to opt out and seek the best deal possible for him, cause they can´t make him any promises that he won´t be dealt in a trade. So go find the best deal and situation for yourself. We do the same. At the end of the day, we still need a big and you still need a place, we put a little mustard on top of a one-year deal. Gives both a bit of a fallback option.

It's quiet now but I think there are still some massive moves yet to be made / announced.

Folks who are more creative than I am could have a lot of fun with these rumored names.

James Harden -- wants out
Russ Westbrook -- wants out
John Wall -- wants out
Bradley Beal -- wants out if Wall stays
Oladipo -- wants out
Buddy Hield -- wants out
Rudy Gobert -- wants an extension
Ben Simmons -- Morey is GM
Wiggins -- was brought to GSW as trade bait
Dinwiddie -- starting caliber PG getting pushed to the bench
DeRozan & Aldridge -- starting caliber, big expiring contracts on a rebuilding team
Josh Lavine -- name has been in the news

Who am I missing?

So its Baynes or nothing now? Or is there another player left which is worth a rotiation spot?

I can see why it'd be hard to get someone like that
Not much of a defined role when everyone is healthy. There would be competition for playoff minutes
Plus I'd have to guess we're just offering a one year deal

I think @"DanSchwartzman"'s outline of how another big trade could work is very plausible. I'm grateful he shared it with us.

I think executing that idea for Gobert is not very plausible.

Wait huh?? What did I miss? Beal doesn't want to play with Wall? When did that happen?

There's a few, but to be fair, we're not even sure the Mavs have a rotation spot to offer.

We THINK they do, because of KP missing early season and our collective worry about Powell, but the Mavs might not be as worried as we are.

Just thought about Euro/International players. Dallas has pulled some out of their hat in free agency in the past: Mejri, Kleber, Broekhoff.

Is there an international 4/5 which might be interested in playing in the NBA?

If you just need a big, the trade can be 1-1 and resign Barea (we have 14 spots taken without Barea now). The speculation was there is a trade for another spot and then we sign vet-min big. In this case you need 2-1 trade

So Dallas is clearly looking for a center. I wonder if a 2-for-1 S&T for Gasol was part of that discussion. Thus the "TBD".

That appears to be the guy that qualifies as TBD.

Moot point now considering he doesn't want to come. Puzzling.

Baynes would be awesome, but I'd also be happy with WCS, personally.

Seems like everyone is competing for Gasol now, and when he signs, the focus will move onto Baynes, then the next, etc.

Which two players would you sign away for Gasol? 5 mil (or whatever is left) of the MLE is more than enough for him. He is washed

It shows we are still not the free agency destination we think we are when a spanish player is not even thinking about teaming up with our spanish speaking superstar.

"It’s clear to anyone paying attention that your two star players, who will deny it when asked and call me crazy and uninformed and talk about how they love each other and that they’re like brothers, and yadda yadda yadda, don’t want to play with each other anymore. It doesn’t matter why, just as it didn’t matter why the Fugees actually broke up, or why Glenn Frey and Don Felder, gradually and then all at once, wanted to stick each other’s head in a vat of boiling oil. It just is. I’m betting you already know this. So it’s up to you to decide which one of Wall and Beal to keep, and which one to trade."

San Antonio obviously doesn't want to start the rebuild. They are basically running it for a another season

I'm not really trying to start a pipe dream with this, but I think it's weird that Brandon Ingram's max contract hasn't been announced yet. I know he might not sign it until the very last thing for financial reasons, but I still think it's odd we haven't had a Shams/Woj bomb about it.

But can't the Raptors offer him more than the NT-MLE, this is basically a Millsap back to Nuggets situation. We can't offer him enough money.

Lakers obviously in for the ring.
