Eric Pincus just said on the live stream that the Mavs went HARD at a Danilo Gallinari sign & trade but they weren't able to get a deal done and are believed to have moved on.

I think that is a good decision. Don't overpay 32 year old 3-non D guy.

"Good decision?" They couldn't do it because of Presti. They would have shown Gallo the money otherwise.

Why? So many names out there in the MLE range.

None as big as those two. Those are probably the only guys I would give multiyear deals at close to the full MLE for. And, as Aussieball said, Gallo if he doesn't want to play for the bottom feeders.

I agree and I love Gallinari but I have visions of him being on the court having to match up with Lebron in a series or if the Clippers run out Montrez. 

I think we need to go in another direction

Seems easily tradable. You'd have a stable of fresh defenders to keep throwing at the opposing team. Does he hate Carlisle?

I brought up that concern earlier and was told that he had no problem with Carlisle or the organization, just frustrated with his situation (benched for now-out-of-the-league Parsons). He checks the dog box if nothing else. Small for the four spot, but not in RC's lineups.

OK, yeah, I was wrong. It was likely Gallo and not Presti who turned down the Mavs. That's a poop-ton of money for a guy who makes THJ look like a defensive colossus in comparison.

Pincus said the Mavs and Heat both worked HARD to put a S&T together for Gallinari. Gallo wanted to go to a winner. But neither team could make the numbers work, so it became about who could pay. Atlanta.
