#31 for PJ Tucker, anyone?
We'd have to send out something else for salary purposes - likely, they take Wright, we give them an extra future second or two for the trouble. I'd be happy adding Tucker to the rotation. Once again, I seriously doubt it. Otherwise it would have happened already.
Am I high or something? Just getting rid of Wright probably costs 31. They probably want a late first for Tucker.
Edit: the original post I quoted said Wright + 31 for Tucker

That's an extreme overpay. Hayward is basically only a solid starter right now. He's not a star. He's now 30. I'd rather trade for Tobias Harris on his awful salary then trade any decent asset we have for Hayward.
That's a bold statement, my friend.
I at least know Harris is going to be available to play. And his offensive stats are actually better. Defense I don't think is as good.
And make not mistake. I want no part of Harris. But I want no part of GH even less if we are exhausting every decent asset we have.
For a guy who isn't a 20 ppg guy? No thanks. His career scoring average is 15.3ppg. He's a good defender but he's not winning any DPOY awards. Dear Lord please stop. Health is the concern with GH. Otherwise, Hayward and THJ are not in the same stratosphere as players. Hayward made an all star team the west. He’s a 20/5/5 guy that can do a little bit of everything. THJ we kept from being a complete bum and one of the worst players in the nba by telling him to just catch and shoot off Luka dish outs.
Not going to disagree that Hayward is better than THJ, but he literally never had a 20/5/5 season.
He´s been averaging roughly 14.3/5.3/3.7, since his return from injury, obviously current season being better than the last, but nothing spectacular.
It´s actually not that far off the Oladipo post-injury numbers so far: 14.5/3.9/2.9. So with a similar positive progress Oladipo could be back to target status for 2021 FA.

I can’t even imagine getting off Wrights deal and getting Tucker for #31. I’d think it was April fools.

I am still waiting for the DLord premium.

Yes, I know that throwing these homer trades against the wall is tiresome to a realist. Problem is, the Mavs put themselves into this situation by not stockpiling more assets last summer. We're in a situation in which 1) we must improve, and 2) have few means to do so as much as we need to. Ergo, homer trade suggestions, which tend to beat abject despair.

This isn't 2016/2017.
Thats the year he made the all star team and it's the only hear he's had 20ppg. He's not a 20 ppg guy. He's a 15.3 ppg career high. He had 2 years of 19 ppg and 1 year of 20. And then 17.5 last year.
6 of his 10 years he's been 16ppg or under.
He's over 30 too. He's also not been a high volume 3 pt shooter for a long time.
You guys are way overrating Hayward. And I'm very interested in acquiring him.
And if you are going off past performances still Hardaway was actually a pretty good player before the Knicks got him. He averaged almost 15ppg his last year in Atlanta with similar per 36 numbers as last year. Got a few less minutes. He's also more of a shooter.
I'm not saying THJ is better. He's not. But I think they are actually pretty close. That's the type of player Hayward is. I'm not sure either is capable of being the 3rd guy fwiw either.

They could just as easily do a threesome. No need for two separate trades and TPE. Not to mention I don't think taking Drummond is a really smart move. Come on. That was obviously just an example and a trade exception can be used at any point in time for any player. A three-way forces them into a decision now.
Maybe the Celtics get an awesome deal for a big in free agency. Brook Lopez went for the BAE not so long ago. Suddenly they can use the TPE at the deadline on a big expiring like Oladipo, Aldridge, OPJ or DeRozan. A giant TPE gives Ainge a virtual max contract slot, when otherwise he´d just have the MLE. That´s obviously worth something to Boston and Atlanta has an incentive to delay the outright signing.

Option 3: Tucker for Wright/31 to get that out of the way. Draft #18. THJ for Dipo straight up. MLE for bought-out Danny Green.

I don’t know if I had this screen name on the old site but I literally could not give two shits about a guys counting stats. It’s all about role and opportunity. Julius Randle must be borderline all nba then because he could put up 20/10 easy.
GH was the primary offense creator on a playoff team in the west. THJ was the primary bum on the Knicks. Switch their roles and I don’t think it’s close in terms of impact.
once again the caveat is what your medical team says about Hayward.
I just don’t want to trade Maxi. 18+31+THJ id do for GH of medical checks out
THJ + Delin is a clown offer

I think when the Rockets say star they mean a Luka, KAT, Simmons, Tatum, Ayton type, not the very useful sort like Levert or Allen.

Issue is draft is Weds, THJ opt-in is Thursday so you can't combine the two really.

It would make the Rockets nuts to trade with the Sixers but from what I can tell the Sixers are the only team with an actual star player to offer up for Harden and that's Simmons. I am not a big believer in Simmons but he at least has potential to be great if you build a good team around him. He is not in a good fitting role in Philly. If the Rox feel like they have to trade Harden I would have to think a package of Simmons + other stuff would be the best deal for them. They would move Westbrook for Wall I guess to see how that goes or maybe they could just get a pick or two from NYK to not have to eat a giant contract in a Westbrook move.

I probably come across as a dick but he was the most clueless person on the old site outside of having an encyclopedic knowledge of the CBA.
Tatum and Brown aren’t that attractive of a trade package for AD. We should “showcase” Harrison Barnes and get in that conversation. He really said that.
