Celtics have tons of guards and wings. Hayward is the odd man out. Doesn't mean he's not a good player. He would be excellent as the 3rd guy in the Mavs starting lineup.

He could decline his option and get 4/100 from Atlanta or he could go to his first choice(Dallas) in trade and make 1/34 with a 3/54 extension(11-17-2020, 05:03 PM)cjeter24 Wrote: I'm curious to hear what you would pay him contract wise. He holds all the cards if he told Boston he will only opt in if he’s traded to Dallas. He could always opt out and take the money on a bad team while leaving Boston with nothing

This more like finding out your girlfriend is going to dump you and then sending her a preemptive strike via text. They can't afford to extend him and like others have said, he's the odd man out.

That is over 100 million on 4 players. Langfor and Williams brothers add another 10 million. And so on. There is also this.

Only the "bad" teams in ATL/Knicks are rumored to be interested so far. Where Hayward doesn't want to end up with (leverage). I think Keith Smith is the mouthpiece of Aigne, if i remember right.
And the Mavs MAYBE, Donnie better not cave in to anything ... We better not give up any major assets at all. THJ / Wright / #31. I guess they want #18 if they are interested in Green in the draft. Anything else on top is suicide.

I realize that you're saying Hayward IS a deal you don't like. For me, it could potentially be an off the wall double or even a sliding triple, depending on the details.

He would fit much better in the Mavs' offense. He suffered a horrible foot & ankle injury and needed 12 months to return to a reasonable level. Now he suffered another ankle injury, came back played five games, averaged 11/4/3, while shooting 40% from the field and 29% from the 3pt line. And NOW he wants a new big contract. I wonder why? This is such an obvious play from Hayward´s side. He wants his last big contract, worried that he turns into hot garbage the next time he steps onto a court, thereby ruining all his 2021 FA prospects. Ainge aside how can people not see through his play. He desperately wants to get paid now, that´s why his agent was pumping out all these articles for months about how awesome and available he is. This has Parsons 2.0 written all over it. So many red flags.

I think he hurt his ankle in the playoffs and wasn't out that long. From what I heard he had a good playoffs when he was out there. I don't see anything that points to big injury flags like Parsons. |
