So the Heat can get Beal.  I guess a beach is the most important thing for an NBA team these days.

This one really doesn't make any sense. Even if Heat gives up Herro, Robinson and Nunn it is not really a kings ransom Washington should get. Perhaps it is just a smokescreen so other teams waste time inquiring about Beal.

As long as we get Giannis I'm happy... Cool

Morey is making Harden leave Smile

It can't be Harden, who forced Westbrick to Houston and has now decided on his own he wants out.

Harden doesn't love you anymore Houston fan, and that is what is too difficult to stomach.

This is pretty sweet for a Houston "hater" like me.

Isn't it a joke/shot on what they have traded for Russ?

Yeah, so I didn't make my point very clearly, because I agree with what you've written here completely.

Here's my point, and you might still disagree, but I want to make sure it's represented correctly:

It's not about being 100% young or 100% old -  both of those ideas are terrible (I agree). There are enough young pieces in place here to where you CAN'T be 100% old, even if you try. I didn't say it very clearly, but I meant 100% WITH THE USE OF ASSETS THIS OFF-SEASON. Like, if you put enough vets around the youth who are already here to make a difference right away (and I don't mean Barea and Lee, but people who will play), then great.  If you can't get enough of them, then one 35 year old Milsap is a waste of time. For he and the team both, really.

If you added (for example, this isn't going to happen) Jrue Holiday and Milsap to the young core, then all of a sudden I think you're in a better spot immediately.

But, if you add Killian Hayes and Milsap, I think you're better off in the long run (maybe, at least that's what you hope), but at that point what's Milsap going to do for your competitive bottom line? If it's not getting out of the first round (and I don't think it would be) then IMHO, you're better off using both the MLE and the roster spot in a more forward thinking way.

I hope that makes more sense, even if you still disagree.

Speaking of Herro/Robisnon, Nesmith worked out for the Heat.

Am I the only one who feels like Beal has become the overhyped white whale in the NBA? Like, every fanbase thinks a Beal trade is coming to solve all of their problems, but isn't that really just because he happens to be the best player on any of the really bad teams?

Like, I'm not seeing why he's SO special. I'd be thrilled for Miami to get him, I think, if that took them out of the competition for some of the big names next summer.

No idea what Beal would do for them defensively, but with Bam hobbled in the finals, Beal would have been a godsend to generate easy buckets.  Jimmy could have gotten more rest.

Oh, yeah - SORRY! I don't mean to come across like I don't like the player. I think he's GREAT! I guess I just feel like he has been talked about as a trade target (for every team) for so long that he has kind of become overrated a bit.

I would definitely want him on the Mavs, but I mean, it's not the same as landing Giannis, KL, AD, etc.

I would be ALMOST as excited about a LaVine acquisition as I would about a Beal acquisition, tbh. Am I crazy??
