I know the source is not reliable, but that PG13 for RW trade actually makes some sense from each side.
LACs biggest on court problem last year was their lack of a facilitator. Someone who could get shots for others. I don't love RW and his low bbiq play, but he is a facilitator. Add ROCO and you don't lose too much in the way of firepower on offense with PG13 outgoing. Ditto on the defensive side.
Hou would be getting a guy that can get his own shot at any time and doesn't have to have the lane clear to do so. On paper it would seem that Harden and PG13 should be able to co-exist. Yes, they both love to have the ball in their hands, but I would think PG13 would be able to play off ball and still get his buckets. When Harden goes to the bench the ball is in PG13s hands. So you flip RW (very questionable trade value with that albatross of a contract) and ROCO for a player that fits infinitely better next to Harden.

Houston Rockets guard Russell Westbrook took to Instagram on Thursday night to shoot down a report that he and James Harden no longer want to play together.
ESPN posted a report from First Take's Stephen A. Smith that read: "Russell Westbrook and James Harden don't want to play with each other anymore."
Westbrook responded in the comments (h/t The Athletic's Alykhan Bijani), saying: "It's my birthday, but I should say. This is completely fabricated. Y'all have a good night."

Very interesting. Millsap on a 1-year MLE deal (or more money with only 1 year guaranteed if Denver is open to a S&T) is exactly the type of FA move I could see Dallas looking for.
Stuff like this isn't random. My educated guess is that the Mavs marketing team is feeling the same time crunch as everyone else with the draft and FA fast approaching. Maybe someone created a product page and accidentally published it instead of leaving it as a draft. That doesn't mean Millsap will happen, or that there aren't draft pages for all types of players also waiting in the wings that we'll never see. But it could definitely be an indicator that someone in Dallas thinks Millsap is on the radar.

Would love Millsap on the MLE as some vet muscle.

As a short-term fix, Millsap is as good as it gets to play PF for us. I actually like him a LOT next to KP.

Millsap is an absolute monster in regard to on/off numbers. Huge positive impact on O and D for years. If he wasn't 34 I would be more excited, but dude is GOOD.

Totally. My lack of enthusiasm would be about the "short term" part of your statement, but yeah, if it's a 1-year deal, I'm for it. I didn't really think Christian Wood was a possibility, anyway.
The common thread with everything (if ANY of it is true at all) we've come across so far is that they're looking at bigs with the MLE. Wood, Ibaka and now Milsap. If that's true, then it definitely points to the use of #18 as an asset, whether it be using the pick, trading up or using in a package to get an established player, on either a wing or a guard. I think most of us thought that was the direction they'd go, anyway, but I'm just trying to connect the dots as much as possible.

If that's what gives someone the time of their life, working for an NBA team must suck. Things must have been more fun when Pants DJ was around.

How come Miami can announce the signing of Haslem publically right now. Isn´t that a violation of league rules? As a punishment, they should be banned from signing any European players for the next five years. Okay that´s a little harsh, let´s make it Greek players only.

The Westbrook, PG13 trade makes a lot of sense to me for both teams. I am not sure if it would be straight up or what but that's a very interesting swap idea.

Would Powell fit into OKC's TE? It would be amazing to dump his money but I don't think the Mavs will do it. If CP3 gets dealt to Suns I would be willing to part with 18 to dump both Powell and Wright and receive Oubre in return. It would need to be 2 separate transactions but essentially you out of 20 mil in bad contracts + get a good player in return.

Yeah, this article is a year old, but it goes into detail about what a good fit he is with Joker...
Quote:Even more striking were his on/off numbers with Jokic in particular. When Denver’s all-star center was on the court without Millsap, the Nuggets only outscored opponents by 1.1 points per 100 possessions. When Millsap was on the court without Jokic, Denver’s defense was best in the league by a wide margin, and its overall point differential stayed above +8. To boot, Millsap finished 16th in Real Plus-Minus this season, sandwiched between Chris Paul and Kyrie Irving. (Last year he was 72nd, and in his final season with the Atlanta Hawks, he ranked 14th.)
Quote:Defensively, he’s smart, nimble, and brick solid. Test Millsap head on and there’s a good chance you will lose. He’s also one of the reasons the Nuggets are so comfortable with their aggressive pick-and-roll scheme, with the lumbering Jokic dancing on the perimeter. Even though Millsap is undersized as a rim protector, he knows when to be in the paint and when to scurry back out to the perimeter. He is adept at risk mitigation in physical form.

I like Millsap but I don't see why Denver wouldn't just pay him. He could get stolen away perhaps on a multi-year offer but Mavs won't want to do that. With his bird rights Denver could overpay him on a generous 1 year deal. Mavs could try to do a 1 year MLE offer but that is easily beatable by Denver and perhaps other teams as well.
