Maybe we can snag him for Wright and 31, given all this crap coming out? Maybe he can be another Monta Ellis reclamation project.

I'd like to make a prediction that we hear at least one rumor over the next few weeks connecting Gordon to Dallas. Vucevic, Beverley, Oubre, LaVine -- all I'm sayin' is that there's a clear pattern developing with Duffy clients and Mavs rumors.

Duffy will do nothing to upset Euro LeBron. He wants the percentage of that super-max and all the endorsements. For years agents have taken Cuban for a ride, whether it´s leverage or retirement paycheque.

I'm kinda coming around on the LaVine thing. I HATE that he is a horrible defender, but if we can at least get him to put the effort into it that THJ did last year I think he'd do at least as well (which is still not saying it would be good). I can't imagine THJ not being in that trade though as the salary matches so well. Also, THJ and Zach on the same team isn't all that inspiring, esp since THJ would then be coming off the bench.
Man, if we could get LaVine, WCJ AND OPJ? Honestly, I think that team is ready to marinate and compete in a year or 2.
I can't see the inclusion of WCJ honestly, but Zach and OPJ? I would be pretty good with that trade.
OPJ/LaVine for JB/THJ/Wright/Kleber/18/31/25 first
Unfortunately OPJ and THJ have player options so it can't be done til after the draft...

Quit combining guys with player options with draft picks. We still haven't heard definitively that the *deadlines* on options is going to be before the draft, which means that THJ could opt out after the draft. Then you're stuck with the guy you drafted for Indiana, who may not fit your plans.

The FO that picked Turner, PG13, Granger, Bitadze and Leaf in the 11-20 range. Gets even better, if you factor in that they now can´t trade "their" pick anymore, because it´s ours, and the Mavs are stuck with either Kawhi or LeVert.
I think I´d prefer that outcome over the actual trade.

1) Mention of Mavs' interest in Lavine on a rumors tweet,
2) Our past discussion of OPJ,
3) A mention that someone made that WCJ is on the outs in Chicago.

He´s allegedly available, because he only averages a double-double at age 21, while being their best defensive big by a country mile. Probably because he can´t shoot 3s yet and is not nimble enough for a stretch 4/5.
For the Bulls fans I hope that the rumours are just BS.

The thing is that, since your trade has so many moving parts, if there's a way to split it into two fair trades - one with the draft picks, the other with the option players...

No, no, give us all of their good players.
Something like my proposal to split trades up, with the end result of
THJ/Wright/Powell/Curry/Kleber/18/31 for Lavine/Lauri/OPJ/WCJ/4
I know it hurts to lose Curry and Kleber but you have to give to get.

He´s still be on a rookie deal, too. We still good for Giannis. Not sure what we´d do with all of them, but
Though that´s the interesting part about the players on rookie deals.
I am sceptical whether Dallas-born UFA Gary Trent Jr. can replicate his bubble, but we now have nine months to find out AND more importantly I read somewhere that his max is only 54/4 years (was it the cap expert from ESPN?).
So we could lure him with a starting SG spot next to the best PG in the world and he´d be relatively cheap, too. That´s such an awesome target. Maybe could even do an in-season trade with the Blazers for Delon Wright, after some innocent conversations with his dad and his agent.

I would love Trent Jr. for the Mavs, depending on the price.

He´s also an UFA, so the Blazers can´t match it.
You´d think a starting spot next to Mr. Doncic would be more intriguing to him than being the back-up for Lillard/McCollum for another four years. He´s only 21 years, which means attaching yourself to Luka´s hip will get you PAID in four years and in eight years.
We also have some homer inside track through his father. This is a perfect situation for the Mavs to monitor whether he can back up his play in Portland, but already do some innocent family tampering. I mean all due respect to Derek Harper, but Gary Trent Sr. needs a shot at some special guest star broadcasting here and there.
Portland might be one of the few teams that would actually value Delon Wright as a cheapish back-up PG rotational option.
