The lack of PREPARATION among the good people of this community shocks and frightens me. I might need to hire a couple of people to help me man the hotline phones on draft night. Gonna be expensive, but I'll do it - I love you all too damn much to see you try to navigate the disappointment alone.

Look in the mirror, I just have two words for you: Tobias Harris Smile

I'd route my balls off for him if was a Mav though.
@killerleft

I couldn't pass this one up.  As written, this sounds like a horrific death by cutting one's balls off with a power tool.  MFFL bro!!!

My daughter was learning about homophones and homographs earlier this year, and this was the perfect convergence of these grammatical elements for max comedic effect.

Root -> Route -> Route.   Tongue

Ok, so I take grammar pretty seriously. ARE YOU TELLING ME I HAVE BEEN USING "ROUTE" INCORRECTLY ALL OF MY LIFE???

That's worse than imagining a trade for Tobias Harris, tbqh.

Ok, so THIS is what I'm talking about.

For Boston, the cost of moving up from 14 could potentially be TWO additional first round picks, but you people believe Dallas can move up from a LOWER pick with only DFS.

Love DFS. Great player. Very underrated here, imo, and the point about his extremely team-friendly contract adding to his value is a good one. But, he's not EIGHT SPOTS IN THE DRAFT valuable. This is my point.

IF the Mavs' goal is #10 (it might be) then there is more shit going into this sandwich than has been revealed to us, so far. Another asset going out. Another bad contract coming in. SOMETHING.

From O'Conner's mock:

The Mavericks are looking all over for a secondary playmaking presence behind Luka Doncic; they’re chasing Indiana’s Victor Oladipo, Brooklyn’s Spencer Dinwiddie, and Chicago’s Zach LaVine. Whether any deal is completed before draft night remains to be seen; should they stay here, however, their choices might be limited and it could make more sense to target a 3-and-D wing, such as Green.  Spencer Dinwiddie, and Chicago’s Zach LaVine. Any mention there of moving up in the draft? The names mentioned - are they more similar to Oubre, or Rubio? I'm 50% trolling, but I'm also 50% serious about this, fellas.

BE PREPARED - that's all I'm saying.

The Suns are hoping to use #10 to trade for Oklahoma City point guard Chris Paul, according to league sources. If the Thunder end up here, it’s unclear whom they would target. But if the Suns stay put, it makes logical sense they’d pursue a wing like Okoro since they’re still seeking trades involving Kelly Oubre. It’s been a challenge to find a home for Okoro, who has received interest as high as no. 5 with the Cavaliers, though that noise has quieted in recent weeks. Despite his elite defense and intangibles, teams are concerned about the development of his jumper.

That Zach LaVine note is interesting. This is the first semi-solid intelligence on that we've seen, right? I find it surprising to imagine he's available, but then again, maybe Chicago is REALLY high on Lamelo Ball?

The Los Angeles Lakers reportedly have "interest" in a blockbuster trade that would send Kyle Kuzma and Danny Green to the San Antonio Spurs in exchange for DeMar DeRozan.

Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer reported Thursday it's one of several potential moves under consideration by the Spurs, with LaMarcus Aldridge and Patty Mills also on the trade block.

This makes me want Oladipo even less than I did before, and my interest was pretty low already.

Of all the options that have been floated, I think Oladipo has the highest ceiling. I've been hoping Dallas could steal him for relatively cheap, but now I'm not even sure he's worth that chance. At this point I'd prefer to keep THJ and draft a guard at 18.

Not saying either of the other two O'Conner names are realistic, necessarily, but I'd actually consider either Dinwiddie or LaVine to be pretty significant scores this time around.

You wouldn't?

The Orlando Magic could use Aaron Gordon as trade bait in order to get a better prospect in the 2020 NBA draft.
According to Kevin O'Connor of The Ringer, "league sources say the Magic are attempting to move up into the lottery by packaging [the No. 15 pick] with Aaron Gordon."
Gordon is currently signed through 2021-22 and is set to make about $34.5 million over the next two years. He ranked just fourth on the team with 14.4 points per game last year, adding 7.7 rebounds and 3.7 assists per game.

"The reason he doesn't want to go to the Lakers is because they're already established and they're already accomplished," Smith said in a tweet he posted Wednesday evening. "That's not the kind of ring chasing he wants to be a part of."

Smith said a return to the Clippers makes much more sense here. Paul and head coach Ty Lue have an established relationship—as do Paul and Clippers chairman Steve Ballmer—and Smith noted Kawhi Leonard approached the team about its point guard options after being eliminated from the postseason.
