He should have used the challenge, when Collins shoved Porzingis in the back, and they somehow called a loose ball foul on him. McCallum immediately hit a three, when it should have been Mavs ball.

Or when KP got ALL ball on a foul call that resulted in 2 ft's for Portland. Or when THJ breaks his defenders ankles who just fell down and they called it an offensive foul. Or when Luka took a charge but they called it a block and Portland got a 3 from that (this one was the least likely of getting overturned).

RC blew that one.  He was being a gentleman and didn’t use his challenge despite a couple of bad calls against the Mavs. His protege effed him.

Carlisle made the Mavs miss 5 free throws in the 4th quarter.

Agree, FT misses and overall 3pt shooting was the killer.  Portland was hot and the Mavs barely lost.

Much worse they had no rim protection at all and Luka took two step back threes and had a virtual 24 shot clock violation on another possession. That was bad decision-making by Luka and/or play-calling by Carlisle. They should have gone to the rim with Hezonja playing C. Even if they missed Porzingis and DFS could have cleaned the glass.

This loss is on f****** Rick Carlisle. Completely out-coached with the coaches challenge.

If he used it just once, thats the difference between a Portland bucket or not. Add onto it playing THJ 20+ minutes again.

You should calm down. Bad offense in the second half lost it, not RC. Luka went 2-11 from three point line. Last two 3 pointers totally unecessary. Taking too many difficult stepbacks while he can drive and get to the free throw line or pass to an open teammate. They shot 26 % from 3 as a team and 39 overall. Portland shot 40 from three and 52 overall. Here is the difference.

The other thing that bugs me is better planning when KP wins the tip.  He sent it where no one was located.  He always wins the tips.

I agree RC could have won a few of those challenges for sure, but we lost this game because of free throws and more importantly our 2 best players went 5-21 from 3. That garbage won't win many games. Jacking 3's cost us the game.

Mavs missed 9 free throws tonight, 5 of them in the 4th. 

Mavs played a hard game yet threw it away with poor ft's. Hope KP is mad he went 7/10 from the line tonight.

That’s why we have a coach. He should telling his 2 young studs to attack the basket instead of chucking 3’s. Coaching and free throws cost us this game. Mavs dominated for most of the game
