They don't need to now. They understood the assignment.

Genuinely one of the best articles I've read on summer league and trusting the eye test.

Surprised the FT% doesn't carry.  I guess the sample is too small.

"Be nice to do it (championship) in two years here."

Love the hubris. 8 straight years of different champions, plenty of parity, so might as well dream big.

Yeah this fan base isn’t used to winning.

The coach will need to do it on his own.

On the contrary, this fan base is used to following one of the most perennially successful teams of the past 30 years. There were a couple of multi-year drags in there, including one really long one while everyone was waiting for Dirk to retire, but when you zoom out, I'd say Dallas fan expectations are pretty high.

Even as poorly as the team has been run recently, they've been to the conference finals twice in the past five years.

The fan base is used to winning seasons, but not championships. There is zero expectation of that here with most.

It’s a cultural thing and expectation. Go to Boston or LA. It’s completely different.

Right. But, most of us also grew up Cowboys fans, which I'd argue is a similarly delusional animal to the Celtics/Lakers fan.

We'll find out quickly if he can contribute this year or if he's more of a developmental guy.  To be a rotation player in the NBA, you gotta be one of the best players on the court in summer league.

I am ignorant about how developed he is. I'm just looking at the guard situation and wondering if they expect something from him this year.

I wonder if Summer league is really the place to determine that though.  Larry seems like the kind of player that would operate much better in a structured environment than in the crazy that is Summer league.

Lawal has a great personality.  He needs to be on this team.

Lots of talk, so far, from May and the summer league guys about "playing fast...move the ball...everyone gets touches."

I'm here for it, and hope it materializes in a real way.

I expected him to be more British, less African. I don't know why I expected that, but it was certainly interesting to hear him tell his story.

Mavs are going to win summer league championship with the largest crop of young talent in the league.
