There's a blueprint for how it could work that simply didn't exist before Dallas put Luka front and center of their offense...unless you count that one year of Hedo Turkoglu in Orlando.

Kind of like a poor man's Luka from rookie year (which would be a great addition if it worked out that way)

Hope for Goran, expect Zoran.

I don't think he's fast enough for the Dragic comp, and he's way bigger.

I know we don't want to say it out loud, but I literally think "poor man's Luka" is the right comp.

Just like Maxi Kleber was a poor man’s Dirk!

Um...no, not so much like that. Did people make that comp at the time?

My perception of a poor man's Luka would have a greater impact than Goran in his prime which is why I threw out the Dragic brothers, more as an impact comp and not necessarily based on being 1:1 athletically or stylistically.  *shrug*

Oh, I see. Yeah, I'm talking about play style...what they do.

NO IDEA where things end up in terms of impact.

And I guess there is an outside shot he stays overseas.

If Brunson can surpass Luka don’t see why this kid can’t too.

I’m certain there were some giddy fans who had extremely outsized expectations.

Like fans always do after the draft.

Just like someone who just bought a handful of scratch-offs.

When someone makes a comp, I always assume they're talking about skillsets, not how good at those skills a player is or how successful they'll be in the NBA. You know..."comparison"...for context.

Kleber and Dirk had very, very little in common, play style wise, so if that comp was made it was a poor one, imho.

Btw, props to the suns for moving up from 47 for #30. Seems like they paid less than Dallas. Peat is going to need time but they may have rebuilt their future frontline in the past two drafts. Either that or neither of them work out.

I don't think they paid less. Moving from 30, a pick almost nobody ever wants, to 25 is one thing. I think the first few picks in round 2 are pretty clearly more coveted than the last couple of picks in round 1. In other words, because all draft positions are not equal, I don't think cost can be measured in terms of number of spots skipped.

According to the article quoted, Sergio De Larrea is expected to join the Dallas Mavericks next season.

“The Dallas Mavericks’ commitment to him is completely firm because their new coach, Dusty May, considers him a guaranteed part of next season’s roster… Any possibility that De Larrea would remain with Valencia Basket has essentially disappeared.”

Call a guy in the middle of the night before game four of a championship series, cause America is the only place in the world that matters. Jesus that´s a bit embarrassing for the FO, but answers the question whether he´s a true professional.  Smile
