ESPN says this will expand to a three-team team trade where No. 25 selection Sergio De Larrea goes to Dallas, Phoenix gets Peat as the Suns hoped and the Knicks end up collecting three future second-rounders as they work to steer clear of the second apron.

Sources: New York traded No. 25 pick Sergio De Larrea to the Dallas Mavericks for No. 30 Koa Peat and two second-round picks. And then the Knicks traded Peat to the Phoenix Suns for three-rounders and cash. So Knicks move out of the first round -- pick up 3 seconds and cash.

Ok, so this makes me think Dallas paid 2 seconds to move up to 25, and then PHX paid the Knicks two OTHER 2nds for 30.

I don't think Dallas got any additional picks, nor am I sure they still own 48 tomorrow. We'll see.

Either way, good move.

Now I know nothing about Sergio and will be doubtful until proven wrong and may like others more but this was nice maneuvering if they really believe in the player

NY got 3 SRPs. I think two are from Phoenix and one from Mavs. If I understand the trade correctly

We were all going to sleep with a cranberry scone..not bad and might be good for the health later, but definitely not the best of tastes for now. Then the Mavs turn around and give us an apple pie to finish it off. Great night. I stand corrected on the AD trade Smile

Thank You Masai and Schmitz.

?? Sergio de Larrea has quietly become one of the most underrated players in this draft class, particularly as a shooting prospect....

6 '5 - Point Guard - Elite Shooter + Playmaking Flashes

The Spaniard is putting up a blisteringly efficient year from beyond the arc for Valencia across both Liga ACB and Euroleague games. (63 games)

3PT FG - 41.4% (63/152)
- P&R Ball Handler - 44.1% (15/34)
- Spot Up - 43.1% (31/72)
- Transition - 39.3% (11/28)
- 3pr - 48.7%

While De Larrea’s usage is lower than many of his fellow draftees, he is earning rotation minutes for one of the best teams in the world, as they go on a play-off run.

Don't be surprised when De Larrea is selected earlier than most expect on draft night, his ability to stay on the floor against some of the best competition in the world speaks volumes to NBA front offices.

Math ain't mathing though.

Stein says NYK gets 3 2nds. Shams just edited his tweet to 5.

It's bonkers. But, whatever it really is, I can already tell after 2 minutes of highlights it's worth it.

My dude is a BIG PG, and it looks like he can play a little.

I was trying to avoid the comparison but shades of him for sure.

Solid european play with a pass first mentality. Not a great scorer, but the tools are there and more importantly the IQ is there.

Reminds me of current Nikola Topic, or a 6'7 Nando De Colo if you remember him.

I can also see Kevin O'Connor's comparison of Dragic.

Something just feel right for the Mavs to land a European player. Brings me back to the days prior to Nico.

Quaintance probably doesnt make sense anymore with Morez here and Lively already being the injury wildcard option at C.

PG: Irving
SG: Christie | Klay
SF: Flagg | Marshall
PF: Washington
C: Morez | Lively

is how I would pencil in the starters/top 8 right now.

De Larrea makes a lot of sense at #30.

We are closing in on the territory where it might just make more sense to stay put at #30 Imo.

Prophetic.

And there is something to be said for a kid to survive at that level.  Definitely tougher competition than college ball.

Who was it who kept bringing this kid up all night? Was it SH?

I do.  But this kid is obviously a project as well.  This should really drive home the long road ahead.  But I am good with the start.  My only real remaining desire at this point is that they get some kind of value for Gafford this offseason.

I was hammering home De Larrea and was very mad NYK took him.

Turns out I had nothing to be mad about!

I've been talking about DeLarrea for a month, and wondered why the Mavs didn't get the NY pick when the Knicks were trading down. But they did! Sweet!

When they didn't get a PG at 9, this was the outcome I was hoping for. He has some development work ahead, but from what I've seen he has huge upside.

I like this draft day.
