I really like Lauri and Kessler. Not sure I love the addition of JJJ. All good players but when Kessler gets an extension that is a lot of money. Not sure all three can play together. JJJ has been disappointing this year but is a good player. Utah just trying to find star power. Lets see who they get in the draft. If they get lucky, they could be better sooner than we think.
It is crazy how a promising Memphis team a few years ago is over. Morant will be next. They have more first round picks than anyone moving forward. We will see how the picks play out. They get the better of clev, minny and utah next year, the Lakers pick next year and a Suns 2031. Next years draft may be real weak up top.
I may have missed one but with Trae and now JJJ being traded, there is no first round pick still on the team that drafted them. Crazy.
One thing I will say about Memphis, it is probably smart to get ahead of trades. Being early allowed them to get good assets for Bane and JJJ. Time will tell if those assets turn into anything though. They waited too long on Ja and will get a fraction of that return.

The Pacers are resting Bennedict Mathurin tonight against the Jazz as trade winds swirl around his immediate future.
Mathurin scored 25 points against the Rockets yesterday in what was potentially his last game with Indiana.
Indiana has shopped Mathurin in trades for a center.
I could totally see Mathurin for Kessler trade, despite Utah news that they want to try Markanen, Kessler and JJJ trio. Indy can afford to trade for him now and wait for him to heal his injury

I think Utah's strategy is to gather talent, keep their top-8 protected pick and try and compete next year. This is a good draft to be picking top-6 for a guard or a wing.

The Reaves for Kessler trade makes a lot of sense. Utah can even give the Lakers their pick back.
Reaves
George
Dybantsa
Markkanen
JJJ
with a great coach. I say that is very safely a +0.500 team next year.

Lakers will not trade Reaves for Kessler. Neither would Utah do that trade, as Reaves can simply walk in the summer (his max possible extension is not high enough).

He is 6-7 younger than AD, but it is funny how much value Jackson has over Davis. Jackson has missed games, not a great rebounder and an elite defender. AD misses games, is older, is a very good rebounder and elite defender.
Obviously age and current injury are huge factors, but last year at this time their values would have been much closer.

So we're all buying the Ainge bought Dybantsa theory? Be interesting if it comes to fruition.

Memphis burning it down. I've always liked JJJ. Good luck in Utah.

Utah front office knew it had to do something after it looks like Utah may allow fans to bring guns into the arena

So, who will be trading for Morant now? And some (media statements, not this board) thought this will be a quiet TDL with teams preparing for the summer

Just in: Chicago, Minnesota and Detroit have agreed to a multi-team deal that sends Jaden Ivey and Mike Conley Jr. to the Bulls and Kevin Huerter and Dario Saric to the Pistons, sources tell ESPN. Detroit also receives a 2026 first-round protected swap from Minnesota.

I guess this means White to Minny?

So this is leading something more for Minny right? What do they receive?

Detroit gets a good shooter they need. Still, Huerter and pick swap seems light package for Ivey. Although with him up for extension, I guess this is what he is worth

All of a sudden, the Grizzlies have emerged as a potential suitor for Raptors center Jakob Poeltl as Toronto continues to pursue Kings star Domanats Sabonis, league sources told @ClutchPoints.
Memphis just created a TPE from this Jackson trade they can use for Poeltl.

Chicago now probably has Ivey and Giddey as their guards for the future. I think this means at least one of White/Dosunmu will be moved
