FA crop is now really bad next season. UFA are mostly (very) old guys, besides them most interesting UFA remaining:
- Joe Harris,
- Bertans.

Out of RFA:
- Bogdanovic
- Ingram (I don't really think he is a good fit for Dallas)
- Osman
- Prince
- Saric
- Beasley (Denver) and
- J. Hernangomez

What kind of exception are we looking at next season? Full midlevel?

Assuming we don't trade Lee we will have some 6 mil in cap space (taking into account our 2020 rookie salary).

What a weirdly constructed team. Thought for sure they would trade him for a big.
Hard to think that Hayward has any positive value.

Assuming Hayward accepts his player option, Boston will be a huge amount over the salary cap next season. They have 115 mil of commited salaries plus some 25 mil of the Brown extension, which puts them at 140. And they still don't have a credible PF or C on their roster.

I would say it is very likely Hayward will be moved at one point before next season. Or they "know" he will not accept his player option.

I'm pissed! Now these cave dwelling idiots who have the Pelicans making playoffs are going to have an excuse.

My very early trade deadline prediction is that Boston ends up paying a team to take Hayward's salary before Brown's extension kicks in.  I could actually see Dallas having interest, and they do have enough cap flexibility and useful pieces to make something happen.

"It's unlikely that he's going to play this year," Steve Kerr recently told NBC Sports Bay Area in an exclusive interview that will air at 1 p.m. PT Tuesday in “NBA Season Tip-Off,” only on the MyTeams app. "So we have to understand that."
Thompson, who suffered the knee injury during Game 6 of the NBA Finals, had surgery July 2, and has said he hopes to play after the NBA All-Star break in February. Recent history, however, suggests that might not be possible.
Chicago Bulls guard Zach LaVine sat out 11 months with a similar injury, and Atlanta Hawks forward Jabari Parker missed nearly a year. Kerr, who tore his ACL in college, believes Thompson will be on the same timeline as those players.
"You have to look at it realistically," the Warriors coach said. "I had an ACL [tear] in college, and I missed a whole season. Generally, an ACL for a basketball player is a full-year recovery, and if it's a full year for Klay, that puts them out for the season.
“We've kind of left the door open in case the rehab goes perfectly and the doctors say he can go. But the reality is, on April 1, that’s the nine-month mark. ... April versus nine months post-op for an ACL.
"We have to prepare our young guys to fill that role behind him, and when he gets back, whenever that is, hopefully these young guys now are developed and in the rotation and ready to really be contributors on a playoff team and we can get better," Kerr added.

Honestly, i think a lot of ppl are being nostalgic about the Warriors. A lot of people still think they are the same Juggernaut. The truth is; while the rest of the league has gotten better and injected with youth talent - the warriors have regressed and lost the majority of the team that made them a Juggernaut.

Stepth Curry goes down yearly; that's a fact. Who is supposed to cover for him? The bench with a bunch of unknowns? Draymond is going to score 30 a night? Is D-Lo magically going to turn to a superstar force that he hasn't been?

I don't see it. I honestly see the Warriors as a 7th or 8th seed. Especially if Klay doesn't come back. If Curry goes down for extended time, especially the way they are going to ride him this season - I think a lot of people are going to be left disappointed.. That's my opinion on them.

Anyone else planning to watch the Lebrakers vs the Clips tonight?  I need to see Lebron's defensive effort.

Toronto's depth looks pretty bad.
They are starting Lowry and Van Fleet as they have no SG options.
With just Ibaka and Powell as proven NBA rotations players on their bench.

If they get any injuries they could tumble down the standings.

I think its more likely for the Warriors to be the 10th or 11th seed than be in the playoffs this year. It'll take Curry to play at least 75 games, play like a super-god ala his 2016 MVP year, AND for both Draymond and D'Lo to step it up. I just can't see all the stars aligning like that for them.

Not to mention their lack of depth and size. I'll take the Spurs, Kings, or even the Wolves to leap past the Warriors this year for a spot.

Pelicans looking solid without Zion. Lonzo fixed his jumper. Good perimeter D although they cannot stop VanVleet. Favors and Redick are solid veteran starters. Ingram is hot and carries the offense.

Interesting to see that they are playing a 12 man rotation compared to Torontos 8. Raptors really lack some depth.

I personally don't think Lonzo shooting 2-6 counts as a "fixed" jumper, and getting benched for the 4th quarter is interesting.  But the Pelicans do look pretty fun to watch even without Zion.

2/3 from 3. 2/2 from the line. Completly changed his mechanics. Obviously doesn´t fix his lack of finishing ability.
Don´t really know what Gentry did in the 4th. Are the Pelicans already tanking? He benched Favors, Redick and Ball. Played 12 man deep.

Clippers vs Lakers is intense. Feels like a playoff game.

Kawhi is proving that analytics aren´t everything. Easily exposing the Lakers with his midrange game. 11 FGA...8 midrange jumpers or fadeaways for 20 points.
