Nico will be fired any moment. Thank God ownership is coming to its senses and canning that arrogant ass. After he’s gone, we should rejoice for a moment and then expunge all mentions of his name from this site. I’d like to never hear his name again.

It’s done. (edited for language, but ThisIStheYear doesn't like Nico Harrison) Let’s delete this thread soon and hope the Mavs can land Bob Myers or a seasoned hand like that. This team has a lot of work to do.

This will make things even worse IMO. This is admitment that the trade was horrible. And disbelief in the current roster. This is admitting that the roster took a major step back after this trade. Which it did. But I think that the roster would have higher chance suceeding if the owner believed in the move was correct. He is not. He knows now how wrong it was.

You might be right, but the move was necessary.

I agree it was. Necessary to admit. However the players morale will really be affected now, this is the same as the owner admitting the mistake. Which means the owner believes that the roster is much worse now than before the trade. What this all means is that this roster will not be able to win. To me the only solution is starting all over and trading many players. In particular the ones involved in the Luka trade. This is how you get the morale back again in players and the believe between the owner and the players.

Man, the crowd will be a lot different and it's just a great thing for the team... The home games were a Nightmare.

As I posted in the other thread, I think the morale was shot to start the season and the record they've earned hasn't helped things out.  That's just my assessment from afar.  /$0.02

Hard to imagine the vibes and morale could get any worse

At least they wont have home fans booing and yelling when they shoot pivotal free throws now

"Sell the team" could replace "Fire Nico".

I sure hope not. At least the fire Nico portion of that was realistic. No sense in further demoralizing the team to demand something that has zero chance of happening.

Make things worse? Playing pretend is never the way forward. Owning mistakes is the healthy thing to do.
Not very astute ^^^^

It's as justifiable as the "Fire Nico" chants.  While ownership has a better chance of turning around fan sentiment than Nico (anything is better than 0%), but they have a long way to go.

It may be justifiable, but do we really want the environment to be like that forever? Players are already frustrated. I can't see anyone wanting to stick around if this is how things are from now on.

Its the only correct decision. If you trade Luka you should be fired on the spot for even thinking it. And yes it will make things a lot worse that Nico is fired now. The players now know this was a massive mistake. It will further decline the morale of the players.

It will unfortunately. The morale of the fans may improve from today, but of the players will decline more after Nico firing. He is the one assembling that group of players. They know now they are not a good fit.

I dont agree with this. The morale of the players can be worse and we are about to see it. They have hoped dep inside that Nico knew what he was doing, albeit as crazy as it is to trade Luka, and that Mavs would be contender.

I dont see any other way continuing than trading everyone in particular the players received from the Lakers trade. Start all over. The Nico roster should be dissasembled.

Honestly, do you think that the players didn't already know that was a massive mistake???

Come on. It's clear to everyone (not Lakers fans) from day 1.

Trust me, things will go waaaaaaay better now.

I disagree and I think most will. Firing Nico was the first step to fix this thing. You're being a little over the top with this end of the world stuff imo.
