If I'm not mistaken, Luka now plays for another team.

Top-scoring games from undrafted players, NBA or ABA.

How about around college basketball?   Cam Boozer is generally viewed as the third best prospect in the draft.  That can obviously change, but in a warm up game against TN he got 24 pts, 23 rebounds and 6 assists.    We could use a power forward right?

He is huge in the lower body.  Typically these type of players give me some concern but that statline is awesome

Watching some highlights from the top prospects combined with Flagg/Lively against Toronto, we should trade AD so hard and get two high lottery picks in this draft. Those Brown/Dybantsa Team USA half court alley oop lobs gave me chills. I think that draft could be generational.

Maxey is so good, I wonder when the Embiid meltdown/trade request is coming. This is Maxey´s team now and Edgecombe ain´t far behind. If Embiid/PG 13 were to fall in line, they could do some real damage in the East void this year.

Grimes already has 11 points on 5 shots and 3 assists before halftime.

To think we could have had Maxey.  Presumably one of the reasons we didn't draft him is because we already had a similar player in Brunson (who we then let walk for nothing).

No financial details are yet being aired.

But while the "multi-year" description makes it sound like Indy has made a commitment, it's likely this has no real commitment at all. Or an incredibly minor one. I expect Indy is paying for some possible fan excitement in a lost year.

I would wager --
1 it's minimum salary
2 2nd year has no guarantee and it's just Indy getting an insurance policy in case MM suddenly sprouts into a very useful player.
3 1st year might have a small guarantee or none at all, with Indy paying him minimum salary for however many days until they decide to waive him
4 Indy is probably no making commitment to him, unless he is on the roster after Jan 10, at which point it becomes a guaranteed deal (all NG deals become fully gtd for the rest of the year if not waived by Jan 10).

No downside to MM. He can't get 2W money. GL pays pennies. So he gets some NBA-level money (which is way better than GL money, even at minimum salary) for as long as he can do enough for them to want to keep him around. And as decimated as the Indy chances are this year, maybe they end up keeping him for the year.

MM is out of 2-way chances, so he's getting a bit of money that's better than GL pay.
Dumont reportedly "has no problem going into next year with a healthy AD and a healthy Kyrie with Cooper Flagg and seeing what it looks like."

FIBA basketball can be such a good indicator of NBA success. Just being a starter on your senior national team before you even enter college, should be a HUGE green flag. I saw Jamal Murray play starting PG for Canada in WC qualifiers and I have seen Edgecombe be the best and most vocal player in an Olympic qualifier last year against Spain or Lithuania. He was playing hard and yelling at Ayton, when down 20 in a hopeless situation. That reminded me off Jurgen Klopp, the famous soccer coach, how he judged the character of players and he said:  Playing hard, when you up 3-0 means nothing to me. Everybody can do that. I look at them when their team is 0-3 down in the 90th minute and they chill chase the ball like a dog. That´s when I know they will run through brick walls for me. That was Edgecombe. I´m so mad I did not bet the ROTY on him.

Yes. Philly got a good one. I remember watching him in a pre-season game, and he was the best player on the floor.

Are you pushing back at what Perk said? If so, did you listen to the video clip?

Perk (for once) makes a GREAT point.

Perk always has his hot takes. I get it with Ja. But what about all the other nonsense that comes out his mouth?

Yeah, VJ looks awesome.  Still only three games though.  I am a Baylor grad but did not watch them much.  I was sold though when I saw them in the tourney and how he interacted with his teammates.   That was strenghthed when I saw his family on draft night.   He looks like a great guy.    I had him #3 on my board.   I think the open space is so much better in the NBA.  If he can shoot well, he is going to be hard to defend.

Philly just won their 4th game in a row to start the season. Grimes played 39 minutes including the entire overtime (where he had a couple of key steals). He is playing over 30 minutes a game and has the highest net rating on the team. I'm surprised he is getting this much playing time given the contract situation. Maybe he was right to bet on himself.

from Sam Vecenie:

The Thunder being 5-0 having shot only 28.8 percent from 3 so far is kind of bonkers.
