@ShamsCharania
Free agent guard Dennis Schroder has agreed to a three-year, $45 million deal with the Sacramento Kings, sources tell ESPN. Kings officials and Mark Bartelstein of @PrioritySports finalized the deal Tuesday.

@BrettSiegelNBA
It's going to be a 3-year, $45 million contract for Dennis Schroder and the Kings, sources confirm.
Sacramento cleared some cap space to give more money to Schroder after agreeing to a deal with him on Monday.
This won't be a sign-and-trade.

Well...Like it or not he played well for Detroit last year. Even helped win a few games for them. That had to factor in, but these are the Kangz we're talking about here.

15 mil a year puts Schroeder at the 24th highest paid guard in the league. His neighbors are Coby White, Cole Anthony, Colin Sexton and Nembhard.
3 out of 4 of those guys are way better than Schroeder. And below him are guys like TJ McConnell, Dyson Daniels, and Payton Pritchard.
I just think it's a massive overpay for a guy that consistently been shipped off by teams the first chance they can take.

It’s like a pretty girl with a bad personality. All it takes is one GM to think “I think I can salvage that guy.”

From all the PG options available, which one is a better playmaker and leader overall?
I frankly don't see anyone.
Schröder has already proven that he is capable to be a key rotation player in right circumstances. After all, he was the Captain of last years World Cup Champions and Tournament MVP.
And looking on the Kings roster, Schröder should really fit in well, as all the other ballhandlers are more scorers than playmakers.
If not, then he should still have some trade value - as proven twice last season - so the risk for the Kings looks pretty limited and they actually have a good chance of winning this bet on him.

Yeah, but where could they trade him? I feel like he has already played for every team in the league except for Dallas and been shown the door already.

I don't think there are many better players that have his durability left. Schroeder isn't a bad player at all. But my issue lies with the Kings giving him 15mil a year. That's more than the MLE.
Of the remaining guys, I'd take Westbrook/Brogdon/Dinwiddie at a TP-MLE or vet min vs. Schroeder at 15mil a year for the next 3 years.

To me, he's worth 15 a year if given the role - and it looks like this is the case.
However, I agree that you could get not much less production for much less figures on the market. Just not for 3 years fixed. So it seems Kings value consistency on this position...good choice!
