Joey Mistretta (@JoeyMistretta_)

Anthony Davis and Brandon Williams are both probable for tonight’s Mavericks-Grizzlies game.

Ja Morant is questionable.

Dang. I thought the Mavs won the Play-in Championship the other night, and proved defense wins championships, but not with fat-guys. Now, here we are, having to do it again. (Ya, the the Mavs are playing Ja) Maybe AD will play, but he does look good sitting behind the bench in Street-clothes. Might have to give his minutes to Dwight.

It’s time to shut this place down. Playoff game thread and the majority of comments are anti Mavs.

Not really - prefering an outside chance of getting a top 4 pick and a higher draft pick at 11 or 12 to an embarrassing demolition against the Thunder isn’t really anti Mavs, is it? For me the chance at Cooper Flagg is much higher than a championship this season, so I‘m rooting for the first.

I've processed the Luka trade. It's over.

AD looked ok the other night. Seems to be forcing alot. And he ends up on the floor way too much like WTF.

From what I understand, the Lakers aren't going to trade him back to the Mavs, and if they did, they'd want all of the Mavs assets and future draft picks. That's the price for a player of his caliber.

AD, with all that falling, at his age, he could hurt himself and end up watching the games in Street-clothes, behind the bench.

Nail on the head, well-said.

say we win the game tonight that means 2 major victories on the road against some ok teams is that enough to warrant some excitement for our team yet?

No.  We were in the finals last year.  Beat OKC and we'll talk.  Normally I wouldn't consider that enough, but I hate Thunder so that would buy some grace.

My 1st choice of any outcome (by far) is Cooper Flagg. But I strongly suspect that all they would really lose by winning tonight would be to move down in the draft from about 12 to about 15, which I don't see as a big deal at all.

My 2nd choice of any outcome is winning a title (even if it means we're stuck longer with Nico the Dolt), which of course you have to play (and learn to do well at) before you can win.

Also I think it could be interesting to see how good this team with a dominant interior could go, without Kyrie but with a BWill- Exum PG rotation (both of whom are efficient scorers and shoot 3s at a high rate, to open the floor). I have a sneaky suspicion they can be as good as all the teams sitting in the 48-50 win plateau, and I DON'T think OKC or HOU are shoo-in's to the WCF at all (even though they ended on a much higher tier than everyone else in the West). IOW seems to me the West is wide open, and it feels like it would be a bad year to stay home from that party.

TL/DR. I'm likely to root for a W tonight, because I think there's going to be more to be gained by that outcome. BUT if they lose, I'll be expecting Cooper Flagg as the consolation prize, because, well, why not!?

Jason Kidd says Anthony Davis is a “game-time decision” but has had no setbacks with his adductor. Asked why he’s a game-time decision, Kidd says, “I’m just reading the script.” #gamesmanship

Our players completely disagree so team tank will have to survive another game. I will continue to watch our team with great interest as long as they play. If we lose I will immediately turn my attention to the lottery and the draft. I’m glad I got to see many of our guys together for 2 games. I really hope we play well but if Memphis wins I will still be happy.
