MAVS NEWS:
Any predictions on the Mar 6 injury update?

Martin sounds close, maybe March 7 vs Memphis

PJW guessing will be out at least a week, 4-5 games

Lively maybe March 21 vs Detroit but he's not running yet as far as I know so that may be optimistic

AD it feels like the Mavs are hiding bad news so I'd be surprised by anything other than the generic "progressing well, no timetable"

Gafford same "progressing well, no timetable" (but almost certainly out for season)

Did PJW re-aggravate his ankle?

I'm going to go out on a limb and say that if Gafford is out for the play-in, we're going to be in the lottery. Just my HSO.

Street clothes probably out for the season
Gaff 99% out for the season
Lively april/mid april
Martin who cares

But no problem, i see a team who is second in the west without quality bigs so we will be ok. Right?

Yep.  That's why he only played 15 minutes.

Gafford's injury was a Grade 3 MCL which is a full tear. According to Google that usually requires surgery and often involves other injuries. Surgery is usually done in 7-10 days but I don't think anything has been reported.

I guess Dallas could announce Gafford had successful surgery, but even if he didn't go under the knife, it sounds like the usual recovery time is 3 months for a Grade 3

That would put Gaff out until a month into the playoffs

And,  like almost all of us, I continue to struggle with the Luka trade.  I have had a 10 game weekend season ticket package for over 20 years and going to 10 games plus 1/2 the playoff games has been a big part of my life.  This morning, I received the pricing to renew my ticket package by 3/17.  While the price for parking stayed the same, the ticket prices for the regular season weekend package are up 12.38% from last year.  Interestingly, the option to buy this year's playoff tickets is almost identical to last year's playoff game prices.

This next two weeks will be really interesting as a huge amount of the Mav's arena revenue comes from season ticket holders.   Undecided

I wouldn't be in a hurry to write any checks. What will this team even look like next year?

I should've checked the official injury report before posting my predictions.

Lively is listed as OUT until at least April 2nd. Same for Gafford but that sounds impossibly optimistic.

That depends on whether he's a quick healer. If he has a full tear, he could be done for the year.

The firenico dude is intensely negative and I'm starting to think that's all he'll ever be. Don't take the bait when you see such a negative post by him.

I edited your post to delete his quote so that others who have him on ignore don't have to see what he wrote. I hope you are ok with that.

Also censored?

We will see if my predictions are wrong...

No problem, Bruh.  He's probably the only negative guy that posts on here. I mean, we all have an opinion, and I respect that. We don't necessarily have to agree to get along. But the obvious trolling is something I'm not down with.

In any event, Martin was a real D-word for not waiving his trade kicker, if he had any inkling of how that would hurt the Mavs. He's already in Rondo/Tariq Abdul-Wahad territory for me and will have to dig himself out of it.

I think you need to give Martin a chance to play and quit on the team in the playoffs before you put him in Rondo territory.  Wink

I'm not going to blame him for not giving up money in a trade he had no control over. Any team roster building issues stemming from that trade are all on Nico.

It's not censoring when you are routinely beating the same drum over and over and causing an unwelcomed environment.

We get it. This has been a very frustrating time. I don't think you really realize how much I actually agree with your negativity. The difference is I don't let it dominate every facet of what I post and think.

Like I am going to bat for you, against my better judgment, because I actually think for whatever reason you can bring some interesting thoughts OTHER than "Mavs suck. They are doomed. Everything is in shambles."

You've been warned at this point on more than one occasion. Please do better.

I actually agree with this.

Martin has been a solid player that has been a playoff riser. If/when he gets healthy, he will be a serviceable guy. Now where he gets his minutes from is the real question. Does Klay take even more of a step back? Does Naji get less minutes?

Yes, i can understand that avoid the reality can help but fake optimism is way worse than my posts... This organization deserves blame every minute of their tenure until they will go away.

No plan B when you lost the fanbase.

If Naji can't make 3s i will not surprise to see Martin plays more than him honestly.

Somebody, on one of the topics showed a chart that showed DAL as having the most lost WAR of any team, so this probably jives with that.

TBH, it feels like Gaff has been out longer, I guess we've been that desperate for an interior presence. And it feels like Naji missed more games when he was out with his recurring "illness".

The fact that the Mavs are still just 1 game out of a top 6 seed is mind boggling to me.
