I mean, he's the CEO, not the GM. I don't think he's going to be on any trade calls or shoving advanced stats in Kidd's face to convince him to start O-Max. I assume his job will be about marketing, furthering the real estate plans Cuban and the new ownership family keep talking about, etc. You know, gathering up all the money Harrison is about to spend on this tax-payer of a contender in the coming seasons. And, isn't the guy who just did that during the GS run pretty much the dream for a job like that?

Nope. I understand everything now.
Cynt Marshall has been holding back the team ever since she got hired.
Pretty sure she orchestrated the Brunson non-signing. Might even have influenced the Giannis draft fiasco.
Now we’re finally free.

Jason Kidd said Luka Doncic (left heel contusion) and Kyrie Irving (right shoulder soreness) did not practice today.
Naji Marshall (illness) and Maxi Kleber (illness; fractured rib) returned to practice.
Doncic is out for the game against the Clippers… Let’s hope it‘s not the next lingering injury to his lower legs. I guess it happened in that moment when someone of the Warriors kind of fell into him while he got a defensive rebound around the free throw line, but he managed to jump out of it and start the fastbreak?

Call it personal damage. I´m surely smarter than I was 20 years ago, but I start to notice, I´m not as sharp anymore. And I´m much further away from 71 than Trump and Biden.
You are correct that his performance in the GS franchise development is certainly a big plus.

Being older, or more mature, is helpful in some ways, not so much in others. I'm retired, myself, and can't imagine myself running anything. I'm good at letting the dogs in and out, and rustling up lunch, but other than that...

impressive and concerning at the same time. I believe he may have hurt it at the beginning of the Golden State game...and then went on to have a masterpiece of a game. Concerning that 4 days later it appears to be still bothering him.

Luka is always hurt. Hate to say it, but that is going to be the only thing holding him back from really reaching the heights of other all time greats. Not saying he won't get there, before I get flamed. He really needs to take ownership of his conditioning. The best example for him is LeBron. He treats his body like it's his temple.

It doesn’t have to be LeBron, who is a god-given physical specimen.
He should look at Dirk, who had less natural athletic ability than Luka, or Klay Thompson and copy what they are doing with their most important asset as a basketball player.

Totally agree about his conditioning.
Not so sure I feel like he's really "hurt," at the moment. I am starting to the get the feeling this team believes it can win a championship this year (not sure if they can, but this is first time in a while that idea has been plausible during the first half of a season, even to the Mavericks, themselves) and are load managing for the long haul. I might be totally wrong about that, but it's a growing feeling I have.

Luka has played in 420 out of a possible 502 career games thus far in his career. Good for 84%. Better than SGA, on par with Lebron, and slightly below guys like Dirk and Jokic.
If you're gonna have a flaming hot take, at least have it be somewhat grounded in reality.

Thanks for the flame. He still misses a lot of time for nagging injuries. He needs to improve his conditioning. I stand on my sword.

This is one of the best interviews Theo Pinson has had.
Super interesting perspective. Must watch imo

Starting to sound like Luka’s calf is cooked. Mavs will have some big decisions coming up.

Not sure what " cooked" is saying. We are all aware he's hurt and will miss time that will be more than a few days, or a week, or similar.
Are you saying that it's more serious than a few weeks to a month-ish, and if so, what's your basis? What "big decisions" are you implying? Such wording makes it sound like you are warning of a year or career at risk. If so ---- sez who?

If Luka would be out for two weeks, that would be just fine, the problem would be is -- if Luka still isn't healthy by ASB.
I don't see them tanking.. but an extended Luka injury would probably push the Mavs to get the Maxi replacement and not wait for the off season.
Deni would make sense now -- would help with the ballhandling and the on the boards in Luka's absence (and even if Luka comes back, we're not sure yet how long it would take him to be even 80% of what he is capable of)

Luka will be evaluated again in one month, per ESPN. This doesn't sound good to me.

Really tough news for Luka and the Mavs. I hope we can steady the ship when he is out and not overwork Kyrie while doing it.
Anyone know the cardio conditioning you can do when out with a calf injury? Also, how do you keep your lower body ready...especially important for a guy like Luka who relies so much on this base strength.
I swear there hasn't been a player who has confused me more on his conditioning than Luka. It is not just the beginning of the season. Several times during the season I feel he looks in rough shape and than at times he looks fine. Add minor injuries and it is even tougher to tell. Then you see him play 45 minutes in a a game. He keeps a lot of things private, so it makes it even tougher to know what his offseason programs are and how disciplined he is during the season.
I am not a pro athlete. Heck far from it. I do stay healthy. I don't drink much. I can't drink beer. I get bad cramps in my right calf just after just 1-2 beers. I wonder how much Luka drinks during the season. I am sure most players like to drink or whatever a lot. This season from Luka got off from a bad start from the beginning. Is it just bad luck (probably) or was it bad planning? In last playoff run he had a bad knee. In the playoff WCF run he missed the first few games of that series. If Jalen didn't play awesome, there was a chance that could have ended our run in the first round. Wasn't he hurt in our non playoff year after Jalen left? Unfortunately, these injuries are popping up often. Time to re-evaluate things?
