I'd say the Mavs were in trouble for this game, except for Luka's track record in games after poor performances. Let's hope the rest of the key guys aren't too worn out from last night. Need to keep Ant Edwards and Gobert in their place, so this game is a *must win.*

I have a good feeling about this one, which probably means the Mavs will lose by 30. Apologies in advance!

Big early game. 3-1 or 2-2. 2-2 would be a mediocre start considering the level of opposition and the general level of play. 3-1 would be much better even if it is just one game on paper.

Gafford is being very assertive on offense early and looks great on that end, but Minnesota is going right at him with every screen and they are murdering him on the other end.

Next defensive test for our new starting five and not looking so hot defending Edwards with PJ on Randle.

Gafford immediately playing screen and rolls much more aggressively out of the timeout, resulting in a stop. Good adjustment.

I get the sense Edwards and Randle will be a much better fit personality-wise. Also can´t underestimate Randle´s passing ability compared to KAT.

Grimes can’t let Ant walk into a 3 when he’s hot like that.

Ant is playing like he has something to prove. Damn, 24 in the 1st.

Yes it’s annoying. Not a fan of the guy. Luka is still missing point blank shots. We don’t seem to be running any sort of offense. Too much shot hunting.

Grimes with the attempted behind the back bullet pass on the break?! He needs to try to finish that one on one. Grimes and Naji need to stop playing scared. Where is Jaden?

You may not like him, but his talent is undeniable.

I think he just lost the ball, which might not be any better, depending on your POV.

I’m suddenly realizing how long it usually takes Luka to get into shape. I guess not having the best player on the floor during the first 20-30 games of each season is just part of the price the team must pay to have him on the roster.

Oh of course dude. Incredibly talented. His personality just rubs me the wrong way. He’s young though, maybe just maturing still. And his premature coronation as the next great one feels strained to me.

Those sets with Lively at the break with the ball, as a passer, are the best thing I have seen from the offense so far this season. It’s a pretty good sign that they are so good at running that stuff so early, since it is new content for the offense.
