For one he has only played over 60 games once in the last five years. He´s injured already and 34 years old. His play-off performances are very up and down, especially his scoring/shooting comes and goes.
He's pretty consistent about missing games

The Denver Nuggets appear unwilling to offer Aaron Gordon the full max contract, per @WindhorstESPN
"From what I understand, they are negotiating with Aaron Gordon. Aaron Gordon was eligible for a four-year, $150 million-ish contract extension. They haven't handed out that offer, otherwise he would have signed it. From what I understand, they are negotiating and they're hopeful of getting him at less than what would be his quote, unquote max."

Mikal Bridges appears to have attended the Ben Simmons School of Shooting this offseason. Has a new shooting form and is currently shooting 2-18 from 3 in preseason.
Rust? Or has he gotten a bad habit he needs to fix?

It would make me really happy if that move ends up flopping for the Knicks.
It's a bit like the Clippers going all-in for Kawhi and PG, or Phoenix with KD and Beal. Decisions that either put you over the top, or leave you bereft of picks and assets for a long time.

You mean, like the Mavs after the KP trade?

It's hard to imagine Mikal Bridges not working out for the Knicks but I will say the 6 FRP's they paid for him was an overpay already. I mean before his time in Brooklyn he was a solid role player. A 3rd/4th option on most nights and wasn't asked to create his own offense at all. After the trade, on a team with no other first option, he put together above average scoring and defense, but I remember the age old adage of never trusting a good stats bad team guy. Bridges is great no doubt as a role player, but would've the Knicks make that Bridges trade and paid that price for another "role player"?
I'm already finding it difficult for him to make an all-star game.
Here's every forward that will by vying for that all-star spot Bridges is contending for:
Pascal Siakam, Jimmy Butler, Paolo Banchero, Franz Wagner, Jayson Tatum, Jaylen Brown, OG Anunoby, Scottie Barnes, Paul George, Giannis, and Khris Middleton,
Add in Bridges and we have 12 guys for 6 spots. (2 starter; 4 bench spots between PF/SF).
So is it even smart for the Knicks to pay 6 FRP for a guy who we're wondering if he'll even make an all-star game?
I'm also hoping this move blows up in the Knicks face just because I find them insufferable. But even if it "works out", my question is Bridges even capable of filling the shoes the Knicks need him to fill? He was a 3rd/4th option guy on the Suns and was solid. I think the Knicks need more than solid.
It's a matter of when, not if, KAT fails to show up in a big game. It's a matter of when, not if, OG gets injured. Josh Hart isn't lighting up defenses most nights. So it all falls on Brunson and Bridges to carry the load. Maybe he can be, but I'm going to be keenly watching for that the entire season.

If they don´t give him what he wants, you can forget about Phoenix. He´s a malcontent of the highest order. Once Durant decides to start pouting poor Bradley Beal will have to eat a lot of sh*t for their failure much like Westbrook, Harden and Irving in the past.

He has been consistently good these past few years. He's not on a level where he can carry a team like Luka or Kawhi, but he's a problem, especially when playing next to a guy like that.
The problem in Philly, to my mind, is Embiid. He's quite overrated, imho. But, he will take focus off of PG to a point where George can thrive, I think.
Don't forget about Maxey. He can take pressure off both of them, and Philly has good depth as well.

The KP trade was a miss, but its not comparable to a trade giving up 6 firsts. Not to mention the Mavs just paid pennies on the dollar for the best player the Nicks got with those picks (Grimes).

Oh wow, I didn't realize Grimes went for one of the Dallas picks. That's a fun piece of trivia.

I think technically it was a trade, but effectively yeah.

He did not. He was drafted with a LAC pick and then traded to NY.

And NYK used the DAL pick to make the trade. It's semantics. NYK wanted Grimes and essentially "used" the Dallas pick for him. Especially since they traded back 4 spots to make the trade happen.

Yes it's semantics, but the idea that "Grimes was actually taken with the Dallas pick" is a semantics statement in the 1st place, and a wrong one. If we are opting to divert to nitpicking semantics, then it should be accurate.

If we are going down the semantics rathole, you should probably at least make an accurate quote. The actual statement was " the best player the Nicks got with those picks (Grimes)", which is technically correct as they got Grimes with those picks (via trade). You can make the argument that I should have probably pointed out that it was via trade to begin with, and I actually clarified that in a response to Killer's post before this rathole got started.

I didn't misquote anyone. I first responded to (and quoted) "Oh wow, I didn't realize Grimes went for one of the Dallas picks. That's a fun piece of trivia" which I then paraphrased slightly to " "Grimes was actually taken with the Dallas pick" when I noted that Grimes was NOT drafted by a Dallas pick.
Anyhow, regardless of how we got here, Grimes was NOT drafted by one of the picks the Mavs traded for KP.

Yes, something I clarified 2 hours before you started this, not that it has any actual impact on the original point being made.
