Trade & FA 2024-25:
@esidery
Kyle Anderson appears unlikely to re-sign with the Timberwolves, per
@JonKrawczynski
(https://nytimes.com/athletic/5604969/202...-anderson/).

Anderson is seeking a similar $9 million salary that he made this year in Minnesota.

Underrated player, imo. Not really an option for the Mavs, but glad to see him out of Minnesota. I thought they should've played him more against Dallas.
I REALLY think we're going to look back at this period of Minnesota's team and wonder why they didn't choose between Towns and Gobert sooner.

Agree, I thought he gave Luka more trouble than I initially thought he would.  And inside the paint he couldn't miss.

from what my sources have been telling me, the Boston Celtics are heavily pursuing free agent guard Dennis Smith Jr. Boston is intrigued by adding Smith to their bench to surround their bench perimeter players with defense, expect the two sides to be talking per sources.

Just what they need right? Another POA defender. DSJ has really turned his career around.

I can’t wait until the Klay to LA tweet to save our season

Crazy that he did so with defense. Not what I would've predicted during his time here, but full credit to him.

The Lakers continue to press in their pursuit of Klay Thompson, league sources say, trying to close a perceived gap on the Mavericks. As @TheSteinLine reported below Friday, strong mutual interest between Thompson and Dallas has already been established:

The Celtics are up for sale now. Cashing in on their championship.
Ok, so what can we expect if they miss out on Thompson?

Dan has already said he'd just pencil Green into the starting lineup and go to war with what's already here. They can avoid the tax if they go that route, right, or am I missing something?

Are there any other dark horse additions that could be had for Green and/or Kleber we should discuss?

Green and maxi need to go

Ah.  The old "addition by subtraction" theory.

The Bulls' trading for Josh Giddey was the 'final straw,' and now DeMar DeRozan is no longer looking to stay with the Bulls, per
@JCowleyHoops

“A source told the Sun-Times late Sunday night that the Alex Caruso-Josh Giddey trade was the final straw in DeRozan’s mind for any sort of return, as the 34-year-old will now use his free agency to shop elsewhere.”

Derozan to the Lakers just makes too much sense

The longer this drags on the more I'm convinced Klay wants LA. He's probably waiting for them to find a deal that clears enough room.

I knew DeRozan was out the second that trade was made. He's just not an off-ball player, and the only possible interest you could have in Giddey is based around him having the ball.

This is the same reason I've never understood why folks want him in Dallas. I'd have to think hard to come up with a worse fit next to Luka.

Me, too, but on the other hand, dirkfansince98 is right - it's just now 10:30 AM on the West coast.

Yes, Klay isn't leaving Cali. This really isn't hard. And a bullet dodged, too.

If he wanted Dallas, then he would have chosen Dallas already. It's all a media/leverage game at this point.
