I saw it on discord. I really don't understand why GSW would be working with both teams on the SnT. Klay decides and they work out a deal. Its that simple...

No, but it was discussed.

This tweet makes it seem like that contract is reporting, which it might be, but I believe it's an aggregation of what Windhorst said on TV this morning, which was speculation, not reporting.

I'm still hoping for a 3-year deal.

There is 'real doubt' that Gary Trent Jr. will even be able to fetch the mid-level exception, per @michaelgrange

“There is real doubt that Trent Jr. will even be offered a deal for the mid-level exception — by definition the NBA’s average salary amount and which starts at $12.5 million for the 2024-25 season.”

I'd rather have Trent Jr at this cost than Klay at 20 plus. I didn't even realize he would be available in this price range.

It doesn't make sense. But its Windhorst, who by all accounts, is the mouthpiece for Lebron, the Lakers, and Klutch. He has always been the mouthpiece for Lebron.

So we have Woj saying the Mavs are in the driver seat, and Windy saying the Warriors are talking to both teams and says it in a way that doesn't really make sense.

What both teams have to give up could have some impact on Klay's decision.

Can we talk about how truly fucked the Bucks are?

I think it makes sense. Different people in each front office doing different jobs. Some trying to negotiate with/convince Thompson, others working with GS so that the framework is in place the second Thompson agrees. As long as Golden State is willing to play ball with either team, I don't think it's a conflict or anything like that. It's not like they're choosing the best trade offer - Thompson will choose.

Stephen A. Smith just said that Klay Thompson is going to Dallas.

Do what you will with that information…

Windhorst said the Mavs were in the driver seat this morning. In fact, he seemed annoyed to have to talk about Thompson to the Lakers.

Not one person I've seen expects the Lakers to get him (doesn't mean they won't, obviously).

Congrats LA!
Pretty sure the Mavs are just being used for leverage at this point to eek more money out of LA. Just can't see a guy who has spent his whole career in California will come to Dallas.

Which I'm totally fine with. Plenty of other decent options. Just gotta get the train moving here. Feels like we always get stuck in this holding pattern in FA.

Unless Lakers are working on more than just Klay, than the most obvious outgoing is DLo. Compared to THJ, the price to dump him would be some 4 SRP.

For Mavs it is very likely Green. I would hope they had a potential taker before, not to be a victim of demands by teams knowing Mavs need to dump him

Tbh, we should've done the same thing for Brunson. Get something back for him at least

Brunson was not interested in helping the Mavs out when he left.

So this means Klay is actually trying to help GSW out? I mean I agree we should just be able to sign him straight up

Grant is probably the Lakers and Mavs first option if he is made available.  The loser will probably pivot to Klay.

That's what the delay is about imo.
