THJ's dad commented this on Instagram. Timmy is gone this summer that's for sure.

Paul George could opt in and request a trade to his preferred destination, per
@WindhorstESPN

“[Clippers] have not been willing to meet Paul George’s price. He remains un-signed. You can’t just look at teams with salary cap space. If Paul George changes teams, it’s very likely going to be a situation where he opts into his contract and requests a trade.”

Paul George would be a perfect fit on this team, but you would have to trade away half the team (and probably all of your assets) to make that salary match, and then be committed to handing out a massive extension to a 34 year old player.  This would be a Mark Cuban move.

Goga Bitadze, the No. 18 overall pick from 2019 draft, is a player many contending teams are targeting as a backup big option on the veteran’s minimum market.

The Clippers, Heat, Kings, Knicks, Mavericks, Pelicans and Suns are teams expected to show interest in Bitadze.

Bitadze averaged 5.0 points, 4.6 rebounds, 1.3 assists and 1.2 blocks in 15.4 minutes per game for the Magic.

Mavs2021 is about to have a party.

Why would the Mavs be interested in a 3rd string center when we feasibly already have 4 centers on the roster?

This tells me that Powell or Maxi might be on their way out and the Mavs are finding a replacement.

Dont play with my feelings, Nico. Big Grin

Looks like a Mavs application video. Some blocks on Tatum, White, Brunson, one-on-one perimeter against Booker, but mostly this is a Vucevic abuse video. Undecided

I wonder whether THJ could actually become an 12 months delay option for Orlando with their alleged primary target in Monk already off the market. If Klay stays in GS, the options become slim. Shockingly Orlando has even more capspace at the end of next season, but after that it´s time to pay Franz, Suggs and maybe Isaac. So they might actually see the benefit in a one year deal THJ over say a four year deal for GTJ that eats into their options in 12 months.

Its bad enough, when Mavs fans (myself included) say we, but as a dad, who was a better player than his son. I feel better for Timmah.
CBS is reporting, via LA Times that Lebron is opting out and will become a free agent.

Burning bridges and making sure that GMs/coaches/owners around the league know that even if THJ isn't known as a locker room problem his dad is a wildcard. Getting some Lavar Ball vibes.

Except THJ isn't some 18yo kid just entering pro ball.

I'd be a little PO'd if my dad was making these kinds of statements about my life and career.

Good. If all we do is dump tim and re-sign DJJ it will be a good offseason.

Look at Denver, they couldn’t even keep the players they had after their run. If all we can do is maintain, it would be a better result than Denver

Nico Harrison says he anticipates “nothing happening” with the players who ranked in the “top seven or eight” for minutes played.

Regarding Derrick Jones Jr., Harrison called him “priority 1A and 1B” and will do whatever required to re-sign him.

Okay, hear me out - what if LeBron does opt out and signs a minimum with Dallas? Yes, that sounds crazy at first, but consider the following:

1. LeBron really wants to play with Kyrie
2. LeBron wants to play with his son
3. LeBron loves Luka
4. LeBron loves Kidd as a coach
5. LeBron wants to compete for a title
6. LeBron likes being on teams with other stars
7. LeBron likes attention

If the Mavs were to draft Bronnie in the second round (where they have a pick at the spot where mocks have Bronnie going), then LeBron could literally have all of the above things by signing a minimum. What more attention could he get than if he signed a minimum with a team to create a new super team AND play with his son? The media would be all over that. The only thing he would have to give up is money.

I KNOW that sounds crazy and it probably won't happen, but it does kinda make for a perfect storm situation.

We aren’t finding better than Jones jr out there. It’s the smart move. We need bench scoring, not to reinvent the wheel

It’s not happening, dude. He’s going to get a bigger bag from the Lakers. Not only is taking a discount (let alone the minimum) not going to enter into his thinking, I would bet my last dollar that the entire point of him opting out is to get more years and more money on this deal, which will probably be his last. We are talking about a guy who wants to own an NBA team. I do not believe it’s about playing with his son, and I do not believe it’s about going to a winning situation. I literally think this is all about getting the most money possible.

It will definitely be a fun, crazy thing to watch everybody overreact to every report and tweet over the next two months though. Not just Mavs fans - EVERYONE. My approach is going to be to refuse the cheese at every turn.

This is why I really hope he opts out - nothing is more fun than the off season overreactions to every small event when a big name player is a free agent.

I don´t know. The guy is a billionaire that nearly lost his son 12 months ago. Might shift your priorities. He´s not catching up with Jordan. The Air is out of that one. He broke Kareem´s points record and it did not shift public opinion either.

I don´t expect him to sign a minimum deal, but $20-25M or even the MLE for a S&T to a contender that added Bronny. I could totally see that. If Lebron wants to play with his son on a contender, he´ll have to take a discount anyway, cause LeBron at $50M will likely be a net negative trade for all the assets and cap flexibility you´ll lose in the trade process.

Cuban leaves office and suddenly all his pipedream superstars become available: Butler, PG13, Harden, Klay, Lebron....I bet he could have gotten one of them for 200/4 and be totally shocked, when they miss half the season in their mid to late 30s with lot of mileage. We are so lucky.
