Trade & FA 2023-24: Stein-Ingram Trade Inevitable| LAL Want Lebron Back On Any Terms
Looks like Houston just had too much cap space and didn't know what to do with it. Russ back to the Clippers for 2/8 is actually pretty solid, though

Charania] Free agent Jalen McDaniels has agreed to a two-year, $9.3 million deal with the Toronto Raptors, sources tell @TheAthletic @Stadium.

Why weren’t we in on this? I’m starting to lose my patience.

McDaniels to Toronto for the BAE? I think I´m done with this franchise. Could have had McDaniels/Bamba instead of Curry/Powell for the same money.

Unless they pull a magic trick in the next two weeks, Luka is out of here in the next 12 months.

They would have been better off putting every stripper in Houston through college. Someone has to step up with no Harden.

Another PF traded for exactly one SRP more than Mavs have. Houston consolidating those excessive young talent for darft capital. KMj to Clippers

Could not even find ONE starter so far this off-season. Needed 2-3.

Nothing they haven’t done before. The roster is finished barring the two way stuff and maybe a minimum guy.

Wow! You know so much!

There is still time for the Mavs to fix this, but I'm not going to hold my breath. They're trying to play a balancing act between a youth movement and winning now. That's a great way to ensure that neither is successful.

Can I get at least a two-week vacation from Bertans before he comes back. Undecided

If they don´t pull a great trade now, I won´t be watching anymore. Not doing this again.

I´ll be back to laugh at the return they get in the Luka trade and then support, whichever teams Luka and Jaden Hardy are leading to the play-offs, while the Dallas Retirement Home is chasing the 10th play-in spot.

.

I think I was the only person unhappy after draft night ended not to have a top 8 rotation player added to the team.

Either trade Kyrie an rebuild or get some players that can help you win now.

Hardy is the future.  Don't kill my joy.

McDaniels doesn’t interest me. Not sure if he is a guy who helps in playoffs. Fits the Toronto fetish though.

Like the clippers move of KJ Martin though. They typically make good on the edge moves. Probably fits them better than Morris in the present too.

Clippers will be trading some of their declining vets and they have a bunch of wings. I think they will primarily look for tax reduction. But first goal will be to construct a Harden or Lillard trade, imho

Toronto acquiring him makes me think something is there though.

Hey I have been burned by the mavs free agency way too many times. So I tend to be more negative here.

Still plenty of time left. But they misread the market basket if Bruce Brown and Dillon brooks were the reason they wanted the full MLE. Never had a chance for either. Hopefully there was more to their plan than that.

I don't know if you can read desperation.  Both of those teams needed to do something with their cap space and needed to overpay, incentivizing vets to sign with those teams.

I wasn't happy either but for different reasons.
For me it was 2 trades, but not in same order that happened:

Bertans for Holmes: 2 NBA scrubs who are owned same money,  one save us more now but paid more next year. Lateral move at best and needed something more to happen to be positive.

10th for 12th and 24th: classic trade down draft trade. Get 2 for one. But I was fan of Wallace and thought his  defense at guard position is needed, that there is a potential Jrue Holiday  there. Now Lively has Tyson potential and that is big for me, I am just not as comfortable with him. OMax was a late riser and I get worried about those.
At the end, just like any draft it will depend on how good the drafted guy is, the Holmes for Bertans was nothing to brag about IMO. Let's hope that the kids proves to be steals

McDaniels would be worth having, but not this one. The one who has actual value and who they need is the OTHER one. Not a FA, and not likely to be available.

What is this based on?  All they need to do to get the full MLE is S/W McGee.  You really think they are not going to spend the MLE or make a trade that eats into it?  There is not reason for them not to spend up to the tax line.  We are in the first two days of free agency.  There will be some free agent options out there and trades are still an option.  This is way too pessimistic, way too early.
