BREAKING: 76ers G James Harden is picking up his $35.6 million option and sides are beginning to work together in exploring trade scenarios, sources tell ESPN. It’s expected that Harden has played his last game for Philadelphia.

No Rockets return. Not staying in Philly. Interesting. Off the top of my head I have a hard time coming up with a potential destination. Clippers? Knicks? Heat?

My guess is Heat

Than you have Lively as a back-up, that will take most of available minutes. So Bamba would basically get the third string center role, and I think he would not be interested at all. Guys like Drummond, as much as I hate him, are the third center types. Or some really unknown youngsters looking at last straws to come/stay in the league.

Beasley also out. Lakers politely said, they would consider them for vet min.

Completely disagree. He´s exactly the kind of player you pick up now. Sell him on getting a fair chance to earn the starting spot and his next payday. He´s only 25, but I seriously doubt, that he´ll get more than the BAE offer. He´s PERFECT guy to take a chance on.

Think about this. He spent his first 4 1/2 years in the league in Orlando.

Here are his starting PGs.

MCW/DJ Augustin
MCW/Fultz/DJ Augustin
Fultz/Anthony
Fultz/Suggs/Anthony
Fultz/Suggs/Anthony

He´s literally played with one true (veteran) PG in DJ Augustin in his whole career. He´s a rim-rolling big and that´s the inexperienced rookie crew he had, who were trying to learn how to read defenses and play, while throwing him lob passes.

I don´t know whether it would work out and the injury concerns are legit, but that´s the kind of situation you read, analyze and think LUKA.

And I´m 99%, he´ll go for the BAE.

Still can't believe he got $10.3 million this past season
what the hell were the Lakers even thinking?

ok they got him a trade. not an outright signing
I don't get why they didn't just keep Thomas Bryant tho

With drafting Lively, we already have a third center/developmental guy. Don’t see how we can carry Bamba unless they plan to send Lively to the G league.

That’s not even taking Richaun Holmes and McShaqtin into account.

If one sees Bamba as legit starter on a contender, he sure is an option. Certainly very cheap. But I don't, so I am out. I doubt Bamba would be interested in third string spot. All of this of course assumes, Mavs actually bring in a starter center. Now their best option is Holmes, which is likely not very promising. But still more than Bamba, imho.

McGee is not playing another minute for the Mavs. They are just trying to trade him and once all avenues are exhausted (unsuccessfully?), he gets stretch-waived for $2.3M.

Basically right now we have Holmes/Lively/X. Assuming that we pay a wing the MLE, what better options do you see in FA than Bamba at the BAE?

At his early peak (at age 23) in Orlando he put up 11/8 with 2 blocks and 38% 3pt FG% in 26 MPG. That´s exactly how successful teams are build. There is a Markkanen or two in every FA window. Just need to find them. There is a legit argument Bamba could outplay his contract easily. Heck he puts up those numbers above, he´d literally have to leave the court on defense, to not be worth the BAE.

I’m trying to learn twitter. This guy had the top 5 in the draft, Whitmore falling out of the top 10, Coulibaly getting a promise from the Wizards. He also predicted Harden opting in for a trade yesterday.

Same dude that mentioned KAT to Phoenix or Dallas. “ Some NBA intel. KAT may get traded to PHX or DAL.”

Surprise news on Harden.

I bet a trade happens pretty quickly. Suns? How is that possible? Same problem they have with wanting Kyrie. They have nothing to offer but Ayton. 76ers have no use for Ayton.

Is this some big 3 team, 4 team trade with Ayton going somewhere else.

Clippers can throw some combination of Norman Powell, Morris, Covington, Batum, etc.

Yeah, that’s obviously a burner account for someone plugged in, somewhere. He has right in the money with everything, way before it breaks.

I hope he’s wrong about KAT or Ayton, though. I guess KAT would be my preference, but I’m not all that interested in either of them.

Atlanta forum also has a bunch of KAT speculations. To be honest, their assets are much better and I wouldn't want KAT anyway. He is not what is needed next to Luka. Even less so next to Luka and Kyrie. I could see Mavs get in as a third team, as Minny doesn't need Capela (neither does Atlanta, if they get KAT).

Mavs giving up less and getting Capela in a 3-way would be nice, in that scenario.

Okay here me out.

Irving + McGee to Sixers
Harden to Suns
Ayton + Korkmaz + Reed S&T (or BAE agreement)+ Jalen McDaniels S&T (or MLE agreement) to Mavs

Doncic/Hardy
Green/THJ/
Bullock/McDaniels/Korkmaz
Kleber/Reed/OMax
Ayton/Holmes/Lively

Now I think that´s a legit possibility.  Cool

Just don´t take Harris.

If the Mavs end up with Capela as their starting center, I will start to take the idea that they’ll be improved defensively pretty damn seriously.

Yeah KAT on Ayton money would be great

But this is just scary:

2026-27
$57,124,200

2027-28
$61,063,800
