Trade & FA 2023-24: 76ers Believe They Have A Shot at PG13

Do you think he's a full MLE guy?

Maybe not the full 12 mil. 8-10 mil is probably more apt.
Then again, with the glut of forwards around the league he maybe could be had for cheaper.

BAE is about 4.5 mil. He's definitely worth more than that.

Mark spoke on a radio interview about ‘part of the MLE’ being a possibility.  BAE seems low and MLE seems high.

The Wolves just declined his $7.4 million option

Right but this is more because they wanted to keep Naz Reid (and spend 90M on the center position) and a lot less about the value of Prince to the rest of the league.

For lots of other reasons.

This gives the Wolves the chance to use the MLE to get someone else for 12 mil that could be more impactful. There was also a noted dust up between Prince and Gobert last season after Gobert punched Kyle Anderson. Don't get me wrong, I'd love to get Prince here on a BAE type of deal, I just think the market for 6'8 forwards that can defend and hit threes are going to inflate his price past that point.

If the Mavs give Tauren Prince the MLE, could they maybe get his dad to sign on for the minimum?

I would be underwhelmed with Prince for the MLE. I agree he seems too high for MLE but too low for BAE. For me, I would only consider for the BAE.

Imo I would put Green, Hardaway, and even Bullock over him. Not even counting OMAX. I don’t think Prince can play PF.

I would prefer to look elsewhere. Solid player though.

Not going to lie, this one is more fun than Prince.

Yeah, I am not sure how realistic Turner is as a target, but for the record, I would be 20x more into that than anything involving Ayton.

Ya it would be probably the best fit out there for a lot of different reasons but I agree it's not realistic.  I could still see him traded from Indiana but not for what we can offer.

It's to the point though where I feel it's quite obvious that Turner would certainly like to be here if it was up to him.

Further, isn’t Turner’s play style pretty much EXACTLY what they want Lively to become? Talk about the perfect stop gap…

What if Indiana wants Ayton? Dan, please swoop in and tell me how the Mavs can plausibly work this situation to their advantage and get Turner.

As a player I would be in all out troll mode on social media in the days leading up to free agency. Following and unfollowing players/teams. Making cryptic statements. Probably hilarious to watch fan reactions.

Let me add, I am not factoring in a move where we moved 1-2 wings in a part of a bigger trade.  I still would t be thrilled with Prince for the full MLE though

Prince has pretty evenly split his time between SF and PF since he got to Minny according to bball ref.  I always wonder how they track that stuff in an age where things feel so positionless.  Like if he's out there with Kyle Anderson...what is the differentiator?

Not sure if they have improved recently, but about 10 years ago, we determined that such sites went by height, which is obviously the dumbest possible way of making those determinations.

I don't see how Turner does anything more different than Kristaps. That pairing never really worked.

This is the part where I’d love all the Ayton smoke to really be about flipping him to Indiana (who wanted him just 12 months ago) for Turner.  Of course no need for Dallas to middle man that unless PHX just had no interest in Turner and was prioritizing multiple players for Ayton.

Maybe he can play PF.  Those positions are tough to differentiate though.  I just wouldn’t think he would be a good fit at of here with our weakness in rebounding.

Separate question, can we sign and trade Wood with other players?  For instance Wood, Holmes and Bullock for Ayton?

Probably not legal but Wood seems like an Isaiah player he would be attracted to.

I think he's much more switchable on defense but I do agree that he's an underwhelming rebounder and has injury concerns much like Porzingis.
