One massive difference is that Ross can finish in the paint. His athleticism is far superior to Timmy’s also.

https://orlandomagicdaily.com/2021/06/23...en-season/ He’s shooting better than THJ, so not a clone, good for him.

I'm on the same page. Top priority is the biggest defensive wing we can find. Unfortunately there really are not any big defensive wings in the buyout market. If Burks becomes available he would be my top choice by a mile. After that Green prolly makes most sense.

Ross is a very similar player to THJ.
But he's also an excellent Twitch streamer so he's got that going for him.

In evaluating potential buyout candidates, please remember that Kyrie and Luka both tend to make their teammates perform better. You're likely getting the "souped-up" version of that (otherwise castoff) player.

Nice. Not exactly the defender we need but at least it pushes Pinson back into the cheerleader role.

Also nice that they’re getting the guy they want. They’ve traditionally had to wait for “scraps” at every point of the roster building process, even when it comes to buyouts. But this feels like a decisive, get exactly who they wanted situation.
The best version of Ross is that he’s a 2nd tier 6th man…not like a Clarkson, but better than not having one.

I have no idea how much he has left or where he fits with the rest of the bench. But having someone with the nickname of the “human torch”. Seems pretty exciting.

Buckle up if you aren´t a THJ fan. Looking at his shooting percentages and tendencies Ross could be his identical twin.

What's better than one designated shooter?
Two designated shooters, up in here
If you one a comin', better step aside
A lotta men didn't, a lotta men died
One fist of iron, the other of steel
If the right one don't get you
Then the left one will

Yea, I dont get this one at all. He's been one of the worst chuckers in the NBA over the last decade.
The only positive is his freak athleticism in transition. He's never figured out how to use it in half court or on defense.

He will eat into some Hardy Party time too. I'm fine with that in the playoffs. Just hope we can get Ross up to speed and keep developing Hardy simultaneously.
