Just buy the man out....good GRIEF.  Any player in the NBA gets a buyout, EXCEPT the player that wants to come to the Mavericks.

I'll bet money if LeKaren wanted him in LA, the Raptors would just buy him out at full price and give him a going away present...maybe even pay for his first month's rent in LA.

Dragic will be ready and rested for the Mavs playoff push.  I wish we could get him here sooner as well.

Maybe Toronto thinks there might be an injury that will cause a team to trade something of value for his services.  I doubt they can dump him anywhere.  Have fun paying that salary for nothing.

There's no guarantee Masai will even trade him here, let alone buy him out.  It's a waiting game for him, whoever offers the best deal.

Just an observation, and correlation doesn't always mean causation, but...

THJ, Bullock, S. Brown, WCS were all playing for their next contract last season. Now they have multi-year financial security and their performance isn't what we expected. Unfortunately the contracts do not include any performance standards, but do pay out regardless of output. All one has to do is just show up.

Wish I could get a deal like that.

Im not saying "comfort" doesnt cause people to ease up...

But the personality types that do actually display this behavior are so so few and far between in professional sports.

Personally...I find it a lazy excuse to hate on a player.

These guys have egos...they have their teammates pushing them to play harder...they have to hear/read people on media platforms trash them for crap play...its measuring stick amongst men to beat the guy in front of you...............there are so many invisible hands pushing these guys to play hard.   To say that "getting paid" makes most of these guys lazy is a lazy opinion, imo.   I think it only poisons a few guys...not 90% of guys getting paid like it seems people suggest.

Cool...if you prove to me that Willy/THJ/etc were in the gym for 2 hours before and after practice their contract year but now they arent...maybe I will give your point some credit.

I think DynamicalVoid made a very good comment. Also, WCS is expiring.

So we lost out, because we could not offer the Bulls these useless, if you believe the MBT and the people here, late 1st and 2nd round picks. Confused

I skimmed it.  It felt like he was trying to make 1 + 1= 3.    Reddick did mention that Dallas did inquire about using him in a sign and trade but then said both teams decided to go a different route.  I think it is major speculation that it was to Chicago.

I think Dallas, as long with several other teams, were trying to see if they could get Lauri at a major discount.   Dallas just never had the assets Chicago wanted.

Looking back on it, I was in favor on getting him at a discount here.  Thought there was value here.   Although, now  I am not sure it would have worked fit wise.    It would have been an awkward fit.    I still think it would have left us missing something.

I read this one and I am again amazed by low standards this team is held to. "The Mavericks front office has been busy, contrary to what Twitter thinks"

Trying is not enough, you have to execute. I am also trying very hard for a date with Megan Fox. Does this make me a resident stud?

Executing isn't enough either, you have to make moves that improve the team's short and long term outlook.

I for one am glad they aren't doing things just to "execute" something.
