I imagine there might be a 3-way standoff with Toronto wanting assets from Dallas or a very cheap buyout from Dragic and Nico/Duffy figuring out the best approach to get Dragic where he wants to be without giving up too much. So it would make sense that Toronto would publicly default to "maybe we'll just keep him" even if nobody believes that.

Not about basketball. When it comes to sports, I mainly use Twitter to monitor basketball news rather than share it. That's what forums (and now Discord) are for.
Why do you ask?

Just because there are one or two guys named Tyler that post about Mavs and wondered if you were one of them.

So I'm the only one left presuming and hoping that the Mavs are holding up the deal because they have bigger fish to fry? Depressing.

Would you be depressed if it ended with Siakam in DAL?

Lulz no. I think that's very unlikely with what we have to offer. Why isn't JCollins more probable?

That’s been one of my pipe dreams, but I can’t come up with a way to realistically pull that off. Thoughts?

I bet we'll see a variety of opinions on this.
I'd probably be okay with Green or Terry but not Brunson. I'd be sad about Terry but not Green.

I think....
Siakam + Dragic to DAL
KP + DP + JB to TOR
....MIGHT get a conversation started.

Checking out other teams message boards can be entertaining. I was checking out the Raptors boards and there are a lot of them saying they need a few assets from Dallas in order to move Dragic to us. Others are saying if they can't move Dragic taht they should back out of the deal.
Suprisingly though the player they seem most excited about is Moses Brown. So my question is can we trade Powell with Brown? Is that possible? If so, that would appear much more possible than including Burke.
Just something I thought of. mavs did do a post on instagram welcoming Brown, but he was not on our summer league team and Cato mentioned he may not be on the roster when everything settles.

I kept hoping our package offered would end up being Powell/Brown/Burke since Burke/Powell doesn't work money wise but maybe that's not even an option to your point.

I've seen a few people note that Toronto showed interest in both Green and Terry before the last draft. So if you're looking for young talent to add to a trade with the Raptors, that would be a good place to start.
IMO, KP/DP/JG/TT for Siakam/Dragic would be a pretty good deal for both teams.

I would be quite sad to give up on JG (because I believe in him that much), but I would do this if no other iteration would work.

We've talked about the concept of Siakam for Porzingis for a while. I love the idea so much. Two unhappy, fallen stars. I'd even add in some draft compensation.

I agree with the framework. I had no idea they had any interest in any of our sophomores. I say ship them all if it gets the deal done.
The sticking point for me is - does Toronto want KP instead of Siakim? If so why?
The only thing I can think of is that I think KP would be a better solo star than Siakam and that might be appealing to a team selling tickets while in rebuild mode.

In the conversation regarding Dragic, let's not bid against ourselves.
Bill Duffy is influential, he is going to be pushing hard to get him elsewhere, TOR has no interest in keeping him, and there's not anyone else who will trade for him with a 19M salary. Mavs default is to just wait for him to be bought out. Powell going the other way (at similar total salary) is a reasonable option for TOR to salvage something useful that is better than writing a 19M check.

In expanding the deal ...
KP for Siakam
DP for Dragic
That (together) is the simplest swap.
Mavs also take ____ using TPE can be added.
Mavs also send ____ can be added.
* Dumont reportedly "has no problem going into next year with a healthy AD and a healthy Kyrie with Cooper Flagg and seeing what it looks like."
