Interesting, but given the nudge-wink comparisons to the Dallas situation, your point has zero relevance whatsoever to the Mavs and JB. An overpriced JB is still a more valuable asset than anything else we would have had other than Luka, and a Dallas Mavericks team with that overpriced JB would have been far better than whatever we're trotting out.
To be honest, I think JB wanted to be gone regardless, because he knew that his ultimate role here was "future trade asset." As a non-two-way player, the longterm fit with Luka was not there. However, while I don't believe that the Mavs would have kept him anyway, his repugnance of them was likely viewed with a sigh of relief, since our owner is too gravely stupid to see the truth of what I wrote in the graph above.
