Well sheesh. Yet another gritty win in difficult circumstances by these Mavs. The way they are playing right now is beautiful stuff. Aside from some questionable shot choices in the 4th that I felt let the Raptors get back into it, the entire team played such high quality basketball that I am willing to overlook such a stretch.
Kyrie Irving has to be some sort of Hela spirit because the way he plays basketball is out of this world. He came to play tonight and he just couldn't miss. When he gets going, it feels like the same feeling of a supercharger for a car getting going. Just a slow crescendo of inevitable power taking control of the flow of the game. Just incredible stuff from him.
Same goes to Luka. Since he's come back from injury he looks like Luka. He is amazing. He played almost a perfect game of basketball from him. The defense was there. The shooting was there. And oh my goodness the passing was there. Like Kyrie, he is inevitable. His ability to exert his will on opposing defense is second to none. I can count on my hand the amount of players I have seen in my lifetime that are this level of offensively dominant. And all of those players have a claim to the throne of GOAT. Seriously Luka. Just amazing stuff.
And Lively... The dude is just a winner. In an overall quiet night for him, he still came up with the 2 biggest defensive plays of the game, stuffing 2 Raptor's layups that effectively killed ANY chance for them to come back into it. And then winning the jumpball right after. Lively is love. Lively is life. Please stay healthy!
OMAX!!!!!!!! OMAX OMAX OMAX. OMAX OMAX OMAX. OMAX OMAX. OMax Omax. Omax? Omax. Omax OMAX! Omax...
(translation, this game reignited my belief that Omax will be a huge difference maker. He hit a corner 3. He played incredible defense. He attacked the rim. Is he ready right now? Maybe not, but the game is there. I can see it. Go OMAX! Definitely would've been my dirkie tonight if it wasn't for a certain legendary shooter...).
Klay is a cold blooded killer. His offensive gravity is rivaling Luka and Kyrie. Teams are doing everything they can to make sure he doesn't shoot it. Even if it gives up a wide open shot somewhere else. He had some gaffs this game. A couple of stupid turnovers for no reason. And a couple of layup attempts that could've made shaqtin-a-fool. But overall for the game he had 20 points on 8-16 shooting. And when it mattered most, he stepped up in the 4th. Scoring 7 points and lead all players in scoring. Great game from Klay! Still cannot believe I have the privilege of watching such a legendary shooter don a Mav jersey.
