Game 24 Dirkie Thread: Luka!!! - ballsrchr - 12-07-2024 Double trap game. If you cruise past one trap game...then the next one may bite you in the patootie. The Mavs came out on Toronto and had a pretty easy game--but suddenly the Raptors started sneaking up on them. It got too close, too late. Luckily the Mavs were able to pull the game out in the end--or should I say?...the patootie? If you look at the starting lineup nothing glares. P.J. was slightly off, but still played a stout game. Maybe it was the let down from the Wizards game, plus all the travel. Alright!...they got the win. I'm a happy camper. The bench was a little down on scoring. Luka and Kyrie scored 59 points between them. Luka with another triple double. Boy...Omax can really move fast. He's a great physical specimen. I think he needs to slow down just a bit. I guess I'm giving my Dirkie to Lukie--I mean Luka! RE: Game 24 Dirkie Thread: - Reunion Mav - 12-08-2024 (12-07-2024, 10:06 PM)ballsrchr Wrote: Double trap game. Passing Harden and Wilt on the triple double list while leading us to victory earns my dirkie. RE: Game 24 Dirkie Thread: - SleepingHero - 12-08-2024 Well sheesh. Yet another gritty win in difficult circumstances by these Mavs. The way they are playing right now is beautiful stuff. Aside from some questionable shot choices in the 4th that I felt let the Raptors get back into it, the entire team played such high quality basketball that I am willing to overlook such a stretch. Kyrie Irving has to be some sort of Hela spirit because the way he plays basketball is out of this world. He came to play tonight and he just couldn't miss. When he gets going, it feels like the same feeling of a supercharger for a car getting going. Just a slow crescendo of inevitable power taking control of the flow of the game. Just incredible stuff from him. Same goes to Luka. Since he's come back from injury he looks like Luka. He is amazing. He played almost a perfect game of basketball from him. The defense was there. The shooting was there. And oh my goodness the passing was there. Like Kyrie, he is inevitable. His ability to exert his will on opposing defense is second to none. I can count on my hand the amount of players I have seen in my lifetime that are this level of offensively dominant. And all of those players have a claim to the throne of GOAT. Seriously Luka. Just amazing stuff. And Lively... The dude is just a winner. In an overall quiet night for him, he still came up with the 2 biggest defensive plays of the game, stuffing 2 Raptor's layups that effectively killed ANY chance for them to come back into it. And then winning the jumpball right after. Lively is love. Lively is life. Please stay healthy! OMAX!!!!!!!! OMAX OMAX OMAX. OMAX OMAX OMAX. OMAX OMAX. OMax Omax. Omax? Omax. Omax OMAX! Omax... (translation, this game reignited my belief that Omax will be a huge difference maker. He hit a corner 3. He played incredible defense. He attacked the rim. Is he ready right now? Maybe not, but the game is there. I can see it. Go OMAX! Definitely would've been my dirkie tonight if it wasn't for a certain legendary shooter...). Klay is a cold blooded killer. His offensive gravity is rivaling Luka and Kyrie. Teams are doing everything they can to make sure he doesn't shoot it. Even if it gives up a wide open shot somewhere else. He had some gaffs this game. A couple of stupid turnovers for no reason. And a couple of layup attempts that could've made shaqtin-a-fool. But overall for the game he had 20 points on 8-16 shooting. And when it mattered most, he stepped up in the 4th. Scoring 7 points and lead all players in scoring. Great game from Klay! Still cannot believe I have the privilege of watching such a legendary shooter don a Mav jersey. RE: Game 24 Dirkie Thread: - SleepingHero - 12-08-2024 RE: Game 24 Dirkie Thread: - SleepingHero - 12-08-2024 Brad Townsend (@townbrad) I asked Kyrie Irving about the Mavericks' 11-1 run despite playing an absurdly road-heavy schedule. "We have depth," he said. "Beautiful depth, I'll add." RE: Game 24 Dirkie Thread: - The Jom - 12-08-2024 Like the 6-6 from FT line as much as the triple double. |
