Also, according to this guy, Thybulle would not have been instead of Green, he could have been in addition to Green. DJJ has been a poor man’s Thybulle. Odd that he didn’t mention Exum. As good as ‘starter-Exum’ has been, even Green fan-boy Dan doesn’t want to mess with that right now.
I thought it was a good analysis of the bigger Dallas names, and how they might fit together into a model that makes sense to the speaker, but the model itself was sort of the value to the watch, imo. I think he betrayed a slight lack of nuanced knowledge of the Mavs' inner workings with his tepid Lively take and the fact that Exum and DJJ weren't even mentioned.
I think Williams would've still happened with Thybulle, yes, but I DON'T think DJJ would've, and I actually think he has been better than Thybulle would've been. Just my opinion.
