I did not vote in the poll, for similar reasons to omahen. It's a combination of the last two. In terms of what Chicagojk said, the issue with all of those wings we have now short of Maxi is that they're all too short. We need a big, rangy wing. Lauri and Siakam meet the criteria of "3rd-best on a contender;" I just don't believe we have the assets to win the sweepstakes for either in-season. Grant would be cheaper than both, but still costly, in ways that could hamper us from getting a legit 3rd-best guy in the offseason.
On the other hand, OG was always the consistent pipe dream for me, and absolutely ideal fit as the 3rd-best player. His disappearance from board rather changes the long view. Really, the only other guy out there who I really think is worth our full asset stash this coming summer is Mikal Bridges. If we had intel that Brooklyn would accept our all-in offer for him this summer, I keep my powder dry. If not, I look at it in terms of trading what we can trade at the TDL for a frontcourt upgrade, then use what we have left in the summertime for another fairly big piece. I still think that a deal for DFS, if it didn't include our '27, would be fantastic. In any event, I do agree with you, KL, that if THJ is traded, whether at the TDL or this summer, his scoring needs to be replaced by what comes in in one of the two deals.
