I'm starting to think that Luka's offensive genius is part of the problem. He plays instinctively and the opposing team has no clue what will happen next. Unfortunately his own teammates have no clue either, they have to react on what Luka does and thus have no advantage on the defense.
Additionally, Luka has a tendency to overcomplicate things. How often do you think he has an open layup at the rim and he goes up and makes the cross-court pass to the 3pt line, which is so difficult that it is not very accurate, so not a clean rhythm catch-and-shoot for his teammate or a defender reacts faster and steals it. Luka sees options that others might not see, but does not judge the risk correctly. Same with his tendency for risky long outlet passes that quite often lead to a turnover.
I think Luka needs to play a bit less risky even if it takes away from his offensive effectiveness a bit.
