Poll: With the current injuries, defensive struggles, and rumors swirling what would you do with KP?

Hold on to him! --- This will pass and he will be an elite player once he can get in game shape and put these unlucky injuries behind him.

Trade him this deadline in March! --- His value is possibly at the highest it will be and the Mavs need to get whatever they can in return for him.

Give him the rest of the season, then trade him this summer! --- Let KP get back and play himself back into shape/health and increase his trade value, but then move him this summer because clearly he is not the right fit next to Luka and with RC.

HOLY KRISTAPS: All Things Porzingis | TRADED to WAS

I mean, he has said he doesn't like it, what has changed though is the team and system, which can affect that answer. It also sounds like it ends the old conversation of position-less basketball, if we're gonna go down the route of what KP says ends conversations.

Playing C unlocks KP. Don't you agree? I love the spacing when everyone is able to shoot the 3. 5 out is good for me!

I think I could come up with a hundred of these if I didn't have to get something done at work:

  1. The world is not stagnant. I'm glad I don't have to hold myself to every thing I've ever said.
  2. Playing center with the Mavs isn't the same as playing center for the Knicks.
  3. A 5-out lineup isn't in the same offensive universe as the old Knicks offense.
  4. These guys have to come up with answers to media questions all the time. I'm sure they don't approach those answers like they would approach giving testimony on a witness stand.
  5. I'm sure KP's contract, the Mavs' winning, and how KP performs in a 5-out lineup would influence a second question about "do you like playing center".
  6. Maybe most importantly, he just said "I like it. I like both", LAST NIGHT! Can't we way that last night's quote trumps a quote from 2 years ago when he was playing with a different team?

I agree, with the caveat that we also need to throw out some lineups that can play some D. A 5-out should be able to do that if you have the right 5.

This is the first time he has said anything contrary to the previous quote, and I covered the rest of your numbers with the part of my take that you didn't quote...

The Dallas Mavericks' best 2-man line-up with significant minutes (at least 350) this season has been the dynamic duo of Porzingis & Brunson.

They are at a +16.6 net rating thus far (10th best in the NBA). Shutting teams down to under 100 pts per game is a big reason why.

I say we do more of that.  I think it's only the 5th time in the last 23 games they've both played.  23 games is 42% of the season so far.

Next year is going to be insane.  They'll both have figured each other out and KP will fully trust his body again.
