I'm guessing (hoping?) the Dallas end of this deal is simply Dragic in, and Powell out. In that equation, Mavs only use up about $8.3M of cap room to get their secondary creator. If it can be Powell + Burke, even better.

That would leave enough room to add TWO more useful pieces, it would seem.

I would be ok if Mavs can do it as a trade without using cap space. To keep possibility to operate over the cap

If you can dump Powell to get Dargic, sure.  But Ujiri is going to ask for something else back I'd suspect.

I don't think there's going to be a market for Dragic at 19 mil for Masai to have leverage but we'll see how it plays out.  Some of these tweets are making me feel like there's already something agreed upon.

Dragic is not the end of the world, no matter what. He makes the team better, and as we're seeing, there aren't a ton of great options right now. 

If it's into space, it could be a solid passing C grade for me. 

If it's a trade involving Powell, it has the potential to be even better. 

He's going to be better here than Wright or Josh Richardson. Just keep reminding yourselves of that.

I could see Dagic at the TDL returning something.  Is Precious worth the price of eating two years of Powell?  Why not just keep Dragic's expiring instead?  Tax savings?

Dragic at 19 million would be an epic fail.   In fact, I am luke warm even if we give them Powell.  And this is coming from a Dragic fan.

It would bring them closer to 2022 caproom and that’s probably 50% of why DAL/Cuban is pushing for this move.

I don't quite follow this.  We should be chasing after stuff that puts us in a position to make a big trade?  Should we just be collecting assets instead of collecting basketball players?  I mean I definitely think priority number 1 should be fixing the 2023 draft situation so I assume we're on the same page there but us getting Dragic doesn't put us any further than we already were from making a big trade.  Plus those trades always require a big expiring contract so it's not like it's completely useless.
