2021 FREE AGENCY: Markkanen wants out of CHI | DAL "definitely interested"
Btw I guarantee you Mark/Donnie would have given up a 2nd round pick in that transaction and not taken on Moses Brown, because it costs 700k in additional capspace.

Absolutely love that Nico already goes full Lester Freamon on Mark.

I guess Tyson Chandler has his first pet project. Cool

Hmmmm

When I put a lineup together that assumes the additions of Lowry, and the Brown Brothers, I feel like we are a little light on the wing.  If you send Maxi also, you now need backups at the 3 and 4.  But, your version gives two ways to fill those slots with the TPE and MLE.  How about Maxi to Cleveland as the third team and they dump Nance and Cedi (one of them fitting into the TPE).

That's concerning re:  Lowry.  You start trying to clear all the cap space you can, then you take back Moses Brown...then you are saying you make pick up 4 mill, unless there's a reason to clear cap space by dropping him.

Hmmmmmmmmmmmm.... Huh

Already have KP, Powell, Brown. Now WCS. What about Luka´s best friend Boban? Four of five bigs that are more or less center only.

Source says Mavs are leaning toward picking up center Willie Cauley-Stein's $4.1 million option for next season. Deadline is Sunday and Mavs are waiting to see if situation unexpectedly materializes to make that cap space worth parting with a big man they like.

KP/Powell/WCS/Moses

My Powell as the outgoing to Toronto is starting to fall into place.

If WCS and Brown are in and Dallas is still chasing Lowry and THJ, then I'm thinking Powell may be packing his bags soon.

That S&T is gonna cost us at least one first rounder, maybe two. If no picks are involved Nico is a god. I even swallow that $30M salary, if Powell is going out.

If Lowry is going to be a 3 year deal I would rather waive Powell and keep Brunson. The only thing it costs is Cuban's money for the luxury tax payment.

Given how hard Nico has negotiated his first deal, I could see something like a 90/3 with the 3rd year as a team option.

1st year Lowry 30 - Powell 11 = 19
2nd year Lowry 30 - Powell 11 = 19
3rd year Lowry 30 (team option)

Effectively a 40/2 deal for Lowry. Now the deal makes a lot more sense number-wise. You don´t like it Lowry, well bye.

The real negotiating task would be the compensation for Toronto eating Powell´s deal. Ujiri will probably demand at least two 1st rounders.

Unless we are all way off and Nico still plans to unload Porzingis.

oh damn fine with WCS if Powell is outgoing

Where's that dougiefresh guy?  He'd be throwing a party if Powell is gone.

the Mavs want to keep THJ, but the only way they can keep him is by finding a workable sign and trade with Lowry... don't know what TOR appretite would be for such a deal if Lowry picks the Mavs. Mavs feel Lowry would fill a need for a rugged, defensive guard to pair next to Luka

I don´t get the sense that the new MBT would sacrifice a TPE + MLE + THJ just to sign Lowry to 90/3 into capspace. That is just a horrible talent trade-off.

The McCollum / Siakam rumors are intriguing. I can see why Portland would want Siakam, but McCollum to Toronto makes a lot less sense with them having FVV and Gary Trent Jr. What if it's part of a backup plan if the Mavs fail on Lowry? KP + Brunson to Toronto, Siakam to Portland, McCollum to Dallas.

Mavs could then use the cap space for THJ + Holmes.

Luka / Burke / Terry
McCollum / THJ
DFS / Brown / Green
Maxi / Powell / Bey
Holmes / WCS / Moses

Still waiting for the Burke + 2nd for cap space trade...

Kyle we would love to give you the full 90/3, but unfortunately, we only have 78/3 left. How bad do you want to be here?

Can´t give a guy money you don´t have, but you can certainly test his desire to play here. If he rather takes the full money from the Pelicans, then good luck to him. At 35.5 years old I´m very comfortable to test his commitment a bit, especially since he already has a ring.

Somewhat related I will say this I have a feeling Oladipo will have a bounce back season on a two year MLE deal somewhere.
