2021 FREE AGENCY: Markkanen wants out of CHI | DAL "definitely interested"
More from that Indy piece: Lamb is not needed.

My comment: fits in our TPE

Maybe Mark is just excited at what the Knicks did this year with 5 PFs.
We didn't make the cut but thanks for all the support!

We're going to innovate.  Everyone else wants to shoot 3s. We're going to play 4 - 7 ft lob threats with Luka and 100% zone defense.

This tracks. Figured Richardson was his replacement.

I wonder if Fournier could be a target if THJ is no longer a priority. Fournier/Holmes and Dragic somehow would be a pretty good offseason.

I know @"Kammrath" would love this.

I still like THJ more than Fournier, but I don't hate Fournier at all. I do like Dragic and Holmes, but I loathe the idea of playing Holmes with KP (though you'll find plenty of support for that plan here).

So no traction for DSJ?

Wouldn´t be opposed to both if the Mavs can turn one of KP/Powell/Boban/WCS into a versatile defender. Mavs missed out on a legit 2nd option but the combined scoring and playmaking of THJ and Fournier could be enough to make up for it. One as the 6th man. The other starting next to Luka and DFS.

It would appear that we currently have a dearth of competent “Wood slangers”, so he would certainly fill a need…

I don't really like Fournier but I haven't watched him much since his Denver days.  He did have some injuries (back?) last year.  Not sure if they are overly cocnerning or not.

The talking points here have turned it into the "Moses Brown" trade, and are trying to build the Mavs roster and decisions around him. But get real.

Could he end up being of some use in Dallas? Maybe, Or, maybe he won't even last to the start of the season.

But he wasn't a Mavs target. He was just a throw-in as a cheap random "necessary salary" filler piece tossed in to the Richardson deal, to make it cap-legal, but who could be jettisoned later by Dallas if cap space was needed. Has put up some stats on a tanking, bad team (because someone has to get some stats). That's it.

Looking at recent Mavs history the throw in usually outplays the main target. Another one for the THJ/Powell//Melli category. In this case I would be really annoyed if the Mavs dump or waive him. Brown is probably the most athletic Mavs big since...I don´t even remember, maybe Wright or Chandler.
Yes he is raw but he is also not even 22. Just finished a season averaging 9pts/9reb in 21 minutes. Ranking 2nd in the league in OREB%.

Moses Brown could also be looked at as a two birds with one stone angle.   WCS was out of the league for good reason.  Boban's best days are well behind him.  They might all be fringe NBA players but at least Brown has upside.  Further, I've long advocated for a different pu pu platter of big men so Brown really doesn't change my sentiment much.  So keep your "get real" advice to yourself.  Please and thank you.

Trey Burke and Dwight Powell for Davis Bertans?    Just trying to find players who have longer contracts whos teams may be interested in getting off them.   Bertans was pretty bad this past year and Wizzards fans were massively disappointed in his play, but playing with Russ can be tough for a rhythm shooter.
