So, it's awful that you guys are pushing this conversation to this point. But... Not crazy at all, he was monster on the boards, blocked shots, high point avg considering it was all around the basket stuff. He was better than Andre Drummond. You did not want to step in the paint with him back there. He averaged almost 4 blocks a game one season??! WTF you are not giving him enough credit.

Hey remember when I said no GM would actually pick Gobert over Davis when starting a franchise? Of course he didn't even get a mention. Giannis and Luka were obvious choices given their age then Davis. Gobert gets one mention in this whole survey as the fourth best defensive player in the league. So there you go, actual GMs running NBA franchises (81% of them anyway).

I am saying he is not that far off from Gobert who you are severely overrating. Gobert not a top 10 player, not even close. Most of the top 10 guys are going to be perennial all-stars like Kevin Durant, Anthony Davis, Kawhi Leonard, guys who are also critical to the offense. Gobert is a very good player in a position that's been steadily marginalized over the years. He is not a top 10 guy or someone you build a franchise around, certainly not as your best player. I actually haven't rated Gobert. I've only said that Kam used data to arrive at his opinion and that NBA community consensus is that Gobert is at least top 20. Why do you want to talk about this so much? And why am I responding to you? Do you need something to do?

That only overrates him if you think Gobert is this all-world player which he isn't.

There is a lot of room between Whiteside and All-World. You don't have to trust me. I'm not an expert at basketball. Ask everyone else. Hey everyone, is SBJ overrating Whiteside?

I compare him to Gobert along with other guys who in their prime were great centers (Chandler, Noah, Adams) and you act like that is crazy. What's crazy is claiming that Gobert right now is a top 10 NBA player. He isn't.

Replace duck and rabbit with Gobert and Whiteside.
14x All-Star, 12x all-NBA, 1x MVP, 1x Finals MVP, 1 NBA Championship: Dirk Nowitzki, the man, the myth, the legend.

Josh Green is a top 5 Mavs player...

Still not a top 10 player.

Whiteside averaged 15.5/13.5 on 64.4% TS and lead the league in blocks (2.9). He was rewarded with a minimum deal from the Kings because no contender was willing to sign him.
Gobert averaged 15.1/13.5 on 69.9% TS. Only 2blks per game. He signed a max deal this summer. Maybe just maybe GMs around the league see the same thing that Kamm tried to explain more than once. To sum it up. Gobert is the best defender of the last 3-5 years. Whiteside stuffs the boxscore and isn´t helping (sometimes even hurting) his team.

I know we gave @"Kammrath" a lot of grief, but seeing how the Mavs lack rebounds in the past game, having Gobert would of made the Mavs 2-0 by now.
