Really, none of the breaking the rules matters, just the fact it was reported. Typical logic now days.
tbh, no body is ever punished if he doesn't get caught.
This was more of crossing a line tbh even last years deals was reported after start of free agency, 2 minutes after it but at least they had the courtesy to do it that way.

I speculated a couple of weeks ago that the NBA told the teams it´s okay to tamper/negotiate (due to the unusual circumstances), but they did not want a repeat of the clownshow from last year. So if anything gets leaked before the official NBA deadlines, that is not 100% above board, you´ll get fined (heavily). I doubt it will be a first rounder, but maybe a 2nd and a seven figure fine.

Kind of a bullshit take. I've been incredibly vocal abut wanting Giannis to stay put with the Bucks until he retires, but rules enforcement is good a thing. There are small market teams that follow the rules that this affected as well. Pitting this as big versus small market sure is some spin.
